I realized this recently too OP!
Only had listened to ITCOCK and Red until recently. Loved those albums, but didn't know what to expect from everything else. Holy shit hearing Lizard, Discipline, Poseidon and Larks' Tongues in Aspic all in a row for the first time was incredibly mind-blowing. How does one man write so much amazing, profound music?

Yes is not as good as King Crimson. They're so not good that Yes lost a drummer to King Crimson and their singer even worked with KC.

Along with Yes, they were the undisputed kings of the Progressive Rock scene until around 1984, then they started falling off imo, so I can't really argue against any of their works up until that point.

King Crimson is a great pick, their mid 70s releases are all fucking bomb like >>68206244 pointed out, but they can be a bit too austere and self-important for me sometimes

and they're certainly not the best act if we're including jazz

While I do believe that King Crimson is an excellent band, the whole best/worst conversation regarding music or any art is not interesting to me.
