everyone freaking out that this is the release date, this is the name of a song that he has already played live. It's not (necessarily) the release date.

Nah, You can tell from the clips he's been posting that they're sticking with the earthier analog sound. Which is actually a nice change of pace since fucking everyone is hopping on the electronic bandwagon.

Album of the day or decade?
I believe in Fleet Foxes. Pecknold is one of the most knowledgable minds in modern music right now, and certainly knows what he's doing.
Bon Iver just threw a bunch of sounds and saxophones over his kanye-esque singing and slapped shitty lyrics and song titles on it and called it an album. Fleet Foxes always take time to perfect the craft rather than pandering to their "indie" audience.
It's going to be really interesting how this album is received.
I have a feeling Pitchfork will not like it at all and it will alienate a good chunk of their general audience, but I could see it winning over alot of the rym-core type people who previously wrote them off as some starbucks-core folk group.
I don't know, we'll see, but I'm really fuckin interested to hear it.

Saw Robin open for Joanna in Vancouver I think it was a little while back, absolutely stole the show. Could not be more hype.

Seconded. Pecknold's a smart, studied, talented dude. I have high hopes for the new FF release, higher than my hopes for pretty much any release of the past year.
