What is the single greatest swans track?
>>68171121
Helpless child
>>68171132
This.
I would say the Swans are Dead version of Helpless Child is one of my favorite songs ever.
>>68171121
Id say something off of soundtracks since thats my favorite of theirs but every song on that album only works in the context of the entire album. So I guess I'd either say She Loves Us!, A Hanging, I am the Sun, or In My Garden, if you want just one then She Loves Us!
The Glowing Man
Final Sacrifice for me
>>68171164
objectively the right answer
Fool or Helpless Child
>>68171209
this too
She Loves Us
I'M JUST A LITTLE BOY
>HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
While The Seer isn't my favorite release(real close, though) and it isn't my favorite track (also real close), I always point to the 'The Apostate.'
It perfectly encapsulates what this incarnation of Swans is "all about," and does an immaculate job of it.
That one where the guy cant use a fork
Nothing after 1998 that's for sure
>>68171132
>>68171149
This or the live version of I Crawled from Swans Are Dead

The Apostate is fucking insane. Easily my favorite Swans song.
The Sound is a close second.
>>68171121

The Sound is the best song Gira has ever made.

Swans are Dead is honestly their best album desu.
Don't know why it's not more widely recognized.
>>68171132
Objectively this
>>68173847
Live albums often go unnoticed because people assume they bring nothing new.

I love how there's almost no disagreement anywhere in this thread. like, everyone mutually agrees that most of the Swans discography is phenomenal
Blind, lyrics never hit so hard
>>68176088
someone should send this to Gira
He might appreciate them
the gate and white light are great

>as soon as money is flesh starts
>>68171121
The Seer is my favorite from them, with (>>68171132) being a close runner up.
The Seer is just so addictive and evil sounding, the way it breaks down hitting that same chord for like 10 minutes and then around the 19 minute mark it begins to form a coherent rhythm/groove. Literally one of my favorite moments in music ever.
>>68180451
shut up faggot I don't agree with >>68171149 because in my opinion the studio version on SFTB is much better.
>>68172831
YOUR NAME IS FUCK
Toussaint Louvertoure or whatever it is called is surprisingly addictive to listen to. The Cloud of Forgetting/Unknowing duo is also pretty fucking neat. Though as some other guy stated, The Apostate might be the best thing I heard from them. Those bells are unbelievable.
>>68182713
fuck off
Apostate, although The Seer is very close.
BUT the Cloud of Unknowing is extremely good too
>>68179673
i thought i was the only one

BRING THE SUN

Real Love
>>68176088
I made these, except The Glowing Man one. I made these for The glowing Man, but no one seemed to like them.
>>68184671
2nd Version
>>68184671
I love you, man
Can you add a circle to that cover?
Also, there are some live albums and EPs you didn't do and I would be really happy if you did covers for them.
Obviously, you could create a new thread to post them.
>>68171132
fpbp
>>68184671
>but no one seemed to like them.
They are posted a lot in Alt-Covers threads. Just put pic related in the archive and you will see.
Also, seconding what >>68184700 said.
helpless child
coward
the glowing man
killing for company
to be kind
half life
also avatar is underrated
All lined up
Blind
>>68178388
Fucking this
I also have a huge soft spot for Fan's Lament, it's a filler track, but it distills the few albums before SFTB perfectly
>>68173714
Pretty sure that's the last song they played during their final tour date before they broke up.
Context makes it even better for me.
