The instruments I have available are drums, bass, guitar, and banjo.
What would be the tuning needed?
And sheet music/tab/whatever of real throat singing bands to draw off of.

get some more traditional instruments. banjo is fine, but try and stay away from electric shit

learn overtone harmony, there's plenty of resources

Well, first of all, you should make amplified throat singing. Any traditional throat singing is just stuck in the past.
