It's up there with Choirs of the Eye, I thought that after about 10 seconds.

Such a unique album, it mixes so many things I love about music (specifically darkwave and prog) in a way that has never been done before. I've never heard an album build an atmosphere quite like this

I also like how it feels kinda loose and improvised but at the same time you understand it is clearly not and everything is so intricately placed and so so tight

the only thing could make it better is if there was no spacey reverb on drums but it is not really an issue

That's how I feel about Kayo Dot in general. That loose feel you're talking about really makes their albums transportive, even if they are thoroughly composed
