was nu-metal really all that bad /mu/ ?
It had it's moments
SoaD and Primus were good

No but corporate cash-ins on widespread movements are really that bad. The 2nd and 3rd rate commercial shill bands ruined something that wasn't even really a "real genre", happens with everything. This stuff gets the most amount of flack but people give the most milquetoast 2000's "indie" a pass or even worse, P4K FotM artists, but it's not suprising considering the edginess of this shit.
/Nu-Metal/ has some great albums, and opened up avenues for other, more niche artists/genres to get exposure, which is a good thing in my book.
Also Deftones exist because of Nu-Metal

There is a lot of pain in KoRn's music. I think they were pretty legit.
the industrial/nu crossovers were pretty cool

GO
>White kids in baggy pants rapping over 7string sludge "metal" and cringe-y turntable scratches.
This shit was blatantly disrespectful to audience and peers in a way that had only existed during the grossest heights of 80's hair metal. It destroyed Woodstock. I was in high school during this whole era and I fucking hated it all.
My favorite Nu-Metal album

Nu-metal was essentially the 1990's equivalent to hair metal. With that said, there were some good bands, like (early) Deftones and Taproot and whatnot

djent is not nu metal lol
