when I did the black metal thing I tried to recommend nothing but black metal too, as an exercise to realize the variety within the genre. it was pretty interesting.

that does make sense, you get so caught up in recommending people stuff that's really similar to what they have but thinking outside the box is way better

i didn't realize how forcing yourself to only explore one little section could be helpful at all but it has given me a brilliant excuse to go back through all the groups i had written off based on one listen like 5 years ago and i'm rediscovering all sorts of stuff i really like

it's been fun so far even though there's about 20 things i want to listen to

i wasn't really feeling any of after school's singles but both of those albums ended up really impressing me, especially dress to kill
good stuff

ex-girl is basically my favorite band along with melt-banana and f(x) they're so incredible
