What's the verdict on Guiro Album edition.

FLAC: https://mega.co.nz/#F!eAAiVYLa!tf_aMMp-F81cBkO2zjIIvg
320: https://mega.co.nz/#F!aAAzkBoZ!cbaVOL5ZbgzxQrnxCm8hCg

Recommendations: http://pastebin.com/Cca07HuB

Thought it was good, smooth, chilled and catchy as hell. Definitely would listen to again on a beautiful afternoon. The last 5 tracks were great.
>>
This album came out in 2007. What's with all the hype now?
>>
>>55443917
same thing happened with You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack, it was an undiscovered gem
>>
>>55443619
Shouso Strip is better than Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana

Also is this that the lastest meme album?
>>
Link to lasto bread onegai.
>>
THE ONLY GOOD MUSIC TO COME FROM JAPAN IS NOISE
>>
>>55443917
same goes with ITAOS, came out in 1998 but became /mu/core in 2008
>>
>>55444077
Nah it was distinctly popular long before it became /mu/core.
>>
>>55443619
Anyone rec something like DEDE Mouse?
>>
>>55444470
nope, wrong

Explain the 15k+ votes on RYM.
>>
>>55445807
>2015

please give me source before 2008
>>
>>55445828
not that guy but on the wiki
>>
>>55445828
Sure thing: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/neutral_milk_hotel/in_the_aeroplane_over_the_sea/

Scroll down to the bottom, there is a list of users who rated the album. Click on page 920, it shows the votes on 24 december 2007. The last page is the 1151st one.

Considering each page consists of 15 votes, and between 920th and 1151st there are 232 pages => 3480 votes in total by 24th december of 2007.

That's a huge number of votes on RYM, and considering the site wasn't as popular back then as now I'd say it's even more significant of a number. The album was already popular, /mu/ isn't some special snowflakes place that somehow "discovered" it.

>Enka
Mina Aoe
Hibari Misora
Ito Yukari
Kan Mikami - Onkashu: Hiraku Yume nado Arujanashi
Maiko Kozakura
Meiko Kaji
Keiko Fuji

I don't really like or listen to much trance but you can try Nhato, Kaito, and Prana.
>>
>>55447792
The tribute album is catchy as hell too.
>>
>>55447983

I actually listened to Meiko Kaji and she is by far one of my favorites.

I'm gonna try to listen to the others artists, thanks you so much.
>>
>>55447975
Hey, that's really good, good pick.
>>
Is there any essential Japanese Post-Rock?

>>55448010
Yeah she's really good. I think she makes very accessible stuff that makes for a good for entry into the traditional popular Japanese music forms
>>55448138
Mono/ Mono & World's End Girlfriend are probably the most 'essential'

gotta go to work now bye jmg
>>
>>55448138
Mono, toe, world's end girlfriend (not really pure post-rock but kinda and they did a great collab with Mono), sgt. , té (more math rockish)
>>
>>55443965
You are so thoroughly wrong it's astounding. Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana is better in every way.
>>
>>55448010
Listen to Keiko Fuji - Golden Best !! Really good
I love Sachiko Kobayashi too.
Meiko Kaiji, by the way, must be the most popular enka singer thanks to Kill Bill.
Sayuri Ishikawa has a done a lot of really good enka songs too.
>>
>>55448138
SPCTRM isn't exactly post-rock, but it's very ambient and all that. Think 'Godspeed You! Black Emperor,' but with traditional Japanese instrumentation.
>>
>>55447998
whats the tribute album? got a download or at least a name?
>>
>>55448493
>touhou album covers
oh god. i'll give it a try though because that sounds awesome.
>>
>>55443965
Why do people think this? I love Shoso Strip, but Karuki is actual perfection. The first Tokyo Jihen album is better than Shoso Strip btw
>>
>>55448531
Listen to the album titled 生年不滿百, it's really quite good.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBN00ClLYRY would this be considered Enka (at least enka inspirited) I really liked this track. Is there any similar sounding artists?
>>
>>55448771
hmmm yeah this clearly sounds like enka
Well, I guess that enka singing is a little bit different but even that sounds similar.
Just listen to enka, this is almost exactly like that
>>
I went onto the last.fm post-school tea time page and messaged two people who had listened to it asking if they could upload it. I hope they upload it. I've never actually heard it before.

>>
>>55449090
Yes he is
>>
>>55449090
Yes
>>
>>55448533
Yeah man, I couldn't believe how good Karuki was when I first listened. It's definitely in my top albums of all time
>>
>>55449090
>>55449134
>>55449137
what album should i start on with indigo la end? i've been meaning to get into them
>>
>>55449169
they have only 2 albums, come on... and i think you can start with anything you want it's accessible as fuck, kinda bland even

Why does this stuff have to be so good yet so hard to find? Copyright laws don't help, either.
