I disagree. With music being so heavily influenced by relationships/love/sex/whatever, I think both LGBT and straight musicians have unique perspectives and positions.
It just so happens that LGBT musicians are a minority, warranting a thread about them.
"Bowie declared himself gay in an interview with Michael Watts in 22 January 1972 issue of Melody Maker"
" In a September 1976 interview with Playboy, Bowie said: "It's true—I am a bisexual. But I can't deny that I've used that fact very well. I suppose it's the best thing that ever happened to me." According to his first wife Angie, Bowie had a relationship with Mick Jagger."
"In a 1983 interview with Rolling Stone, Bowie said his public declaration of bisexuality was "the biggest mistake I ever made" and "I was always a closet heterosexual." On other occasions, he said his interest in homosexual and bisexual culture had been more a product of the times and the situation in which he found himself than his own feelings; as described by Buckley, he said he had been driven more by "a compulsion to flout moral codes than a real biological and psychological state of being.""
this is from wikipedia btw
this guy's a faggot, right?
Bowie's always been more concerned with making statements and becoming famous than with his art. I do love Bowie, he's a good songwriter that's put out some great music, but this shouldn't surprise anyone.
“ i think everyone’s bisexual to some degree or another; it’s just a question of whether or not you choose to recognize it and embrace it. personally, i think choosing between men and women is like choosing between cake and ice cream. you’d be daft not to try both when there are so many different flavours.
Björk confirmed for LGBT
Boy George, and... Not sure if Pete Burns counts...

I can't imagine her ever attracting men by the way she dresses.
I have no idea how O'Rourke-senpai hasn't been posted yet.
As for all of the people complaining about gay musicians and boohoo affirmative action, it's not the orientation of the artist that determines the quality of the music. However, when a really great artist is gay, I often find their work that much more relatable. It's a personal thing
I seriously dunno how the fuck /mu/ isn't hyped for this shit tho
OP please help me to understand why you thought it was necessary o post this thread here of all places instead of consulting tumblr for your desire for SJW musician. I'm even willing to bet that there is an entire subreddit dedicated to gay musicians. Why here?
If I wanted an SJW musician, I'd go listen to Perfect Pussy or Alice Glass or some shit. Maybe I just wanted some more good gay musicians to listen to because it's relatable to me. Not everything has to have a social cause
My words are like a dagger with a jagged edge
