Sure, it's 8 years old but I think it's easily one of those classic albums that was way ahead of it's time.
What album do you cherish /mu/? What album do you wish you could share with every other /mu/tant but never thought you could?
HERE'S YOUR CHANCE NIGGA
This is my favorite album of all time, but /mu/ might actually hate it. I've only really met one anon on here that's liked it. It's got such great flow, and I feel like the tracks are very personal and strong.
Not just this album, but Harvey Danger/Sean Nelson in general

DL ;)
>>52046181
i dont understand why people want to talk about obscure albums, post a picture of said album, and not share the artist/title if its not on the cover
>>52046181
Zu is really good
Best surfrockabillypostpunkambientnoiserock album that will ever come out of Israel.
>>52046369
It's pretty easy to reverse image search an album but I guess it's also a little autistic to assume everyone knows how to do that, so, sorry?
>>52046358
That album is OK at best. Their sound is boring, and all the songs sound the same. Nantes is cool I guess.
Never any love for Phish on here
>>52046415
I like a lot of their studio stuff, but their live shit always devolves into wankery, and they're only known for their live shows.
>>52046390
Hell yeah, I should listen to these guy more.
Such a perfect album, but they'll forever be pigeonholed as "that Edmonton band that got used in the Mass Effect credits"
>>52046358
I think all of Beiruts albums sound a lot alike but if I had to choose my favorite would be the double album with March of the Zapotec and Real People Holland
>>52046181
How thee fuck am I supposed to know what album. That is?
>>52046443
I feel Bright Eyes get such a bad wrap. Genuinely great lyrics that fit their sound.
It's like people forgot that Funkadelic had more than one album
>>52046548
if ur using google chrome right click and hit "s"
>>52046554
Yeah definitely around here they do. All of their albums are pretty unique up until Cassadaga and They people's key.
One of the best pop albums of the decade imo
>>52046554
bad rap? not trying to say you're wrong but i've only ever seen positive things about bright eyes on this board, especially with im wide awake its morning
>>52046268
i kinda like this
>>52046554
>>52046637
Well, here you have it. I just feel any time I bring them up it's some negative opinion that follows.
>>52046395
You should upload this. I just checked Waffles and What and I couldn't find any upload
>>52046577
How are those less unique.
In light of the thread I tried to start, pic related
Really love this guys work
>>52046816
It didn't post the pic
but this guy
>>52046395
Upload it, man.
I can't find it anywhere.
I guess if it doesn't get reviewed on Pitchfork nobody talks about it here.
>>52046773
I realizewd that after i posted it, I really should have said I didn't like them lol
The Conet Project
For some reason, I really love to listen to idiosyncratic sounds, and 'numbers stations' are pretty much the most repetitive thing you can listen to while keeping it extremely interesting.
I love this record in a lo-fi kind of way. It's hard to describe why I love it.
>>52046566
THis is fucking good man
good shit
This is probably the definition of album I love but have never had the opportunity to share with the people I love, so instead I'm going to share it with you guys.
>Bass Drum of Death - GB City
All time favorite.
>>52046718
i really can't even think of a substantial constructive criticism toward their music, they're so good in so many aspects. what do people say about them? im genuinely interested
>>52047223
I'm not sure if this is would be a guilty pleasure on /mu/, but this would definitely be mine. I guessed that /mu/ just tries to ignore ska as much as possible.
>>52047428
I've tried to put ska on discussion sometimes, but /mu/tants refuse to talk about it in a constructive way.
>>52047428
>>52047519
other than the people who just post >ska, it's pretty well-liked
>>52047519
Ska is too fedorable.
Can't wait for his new album
>>52047519
Honestly, Ska feels like one of those genres you like when you're young and just discovering music.
>>52046838
>2014 BNM
>albums mu never talks about
>>52046622
i listened to this and couldn't stand it, i'm sorry anon
why dont you make this a share thread because im a lazy ass
hi, remember me?
It sucks that I can't recommend this album to anyone because "EEEWWWW, RELIENT K?!"
>>52046403
it is a little autistic to assume anything from anyone/
>>52047818
>tfw it's the exact same thing with Beach House
>>52047652
>music style spanning 60+ years and three continents
>hurr durr I grew out real big fish when I was like 15, I know a lot about music
>>52047900
>use ska to branch into punk and hardcore
>listen to bands like streetlight manifesto, rancid, black flag, aquabats
>i-it's not entry level because it's been established for a long time!
>>52047223
>>52047652
To be honest, it actually was the album that I first listened to that really branched out from the usual stuff a semi-antisocial freshman in high school would listen to. My friend recommended it to me, and I loved Streetlight ever since. I didn't get super deep into ska, other than the big names, but it showed me a world of music that I never knew existed. From there, I've expanded much further, but this album will always be one of my favorites. I honestly think it's so well done and fairly innovative. Their live shows are incredible. I think they deserve more recognition on this board, and should not just be labeled as the usual ska that is immediately written off.
>>52047900
reel big fish is the shit, one of the most fun concerts I've been to
dont know why i hardly ever see bones on here AOTY in my opinion
This 'un
There probably aren't enough middle-aged women here for this to be popular. I love it though, I think everything she'd done before was just building up to this.
Why the FUCK don't people like Panacea yet?
He has the instrumentals of your Uyama Hiroto and the lyricism of Madvillainy.
I honestly think he is the best thing to happen to hip-hop ever and nobody has ever recognized it,
This.
Easily one of my favorite albums
>>52047727
Really? I haven't really seen it mentioned really anywhere.Just a couple of people that have brought it up.
>>52047868
Silver Soul is significantly better than every other song on that album, which is kind of a shame
This.
It's GOAT power pop. Nothing can even compare.
This. For the love of god. This.
It's been my favorite record since high school and nothing has been able to replace it for me.
10/10
This, use to listen to Warcloud and The American Poets and The American Poets 2099 alot growing up
Some day, I'll meet someone who knows this album
>>52049235
I have this on CD right beside me, bought a used copy recently, haven't heard it yet. I have high expectations for it.
>>52049406
You're from Adelaide, aren't you.
>>52047223
absolutely this
>>52049426
not even close. live in utah, born in washington
Cuban Bluegrass, motherfuckers.
>>52049451
Is this actually good? I hated that first Stills solo album.
I'm not a huge fan of U2, but I love the shit out of this.
I went to Hawaii once and listened to this album the whole time I was there.
>>52049498
I haven't heard all of the Stills solo album, but Manassas is pretty diverse. I ranges from CSN to salsa to straight-up bluegrass.
I love this album, but it's not name your own price and my card doesnt work on bandcamp for some reason so I cant get it. Also hardly anyone ever talks about it

Seconded
hella underrated album
>>52049853
that's clouddead, not hella
>all these people ITT who don't know parenthetical girls
>>52048942
This is my favourite Joni Mitchell album. Jaco's bass is a really nice addition, and the overall mood is really great.
I'm never get to discuss this album with anyone because most people I know who are familiar with the band have only heard/prefer their newer, pop orientated albums, which kinda sucks. I'm not surprised that it isn't mentioned much given that the majority of the board is American and the album was UK/Japan only(?) but for what it is, it's a solid album.
