No one wants tinnitus!
Are earplugs essential for concerts?
Im seeing Interpol this month, along with some band my sister likes, For King and Country.

These are going to be my first live band concerts, besides this one orchestra I saw once. So how loud can these get and is it necessary to wear these (ear) plugs?

if so, where can i get a lot of cheap pairs?
>>
I don't know how loud they can get, but bringing them with you to a concert is smart in any case. Don't have to use them unless it's louder than you're comfortable with. Better safe than sorry.
>>
Me and my friends like to make fun of those faggots at concerts with earplugs.
The best part is that they can't even hear us.

>Are earplugs essential for concerts?
yes
>>
Always wear them at concerts, unless it's some really quiet jazz band or something
>>
>>51261102

Wear ear plugs for concerts. Concerts are always loud as shit, especially for those that are indoors, and you want to protect your hearing.

I recommend buying a pair of non-disposables like Steve Weiss Hearos.

You should ALWAYS wear earplugs for concerts

But not shit tier foam earplugs, take the ones like in pic related.

Only if you want to ruin the atmosphere.

yeah, like filters and stuff
>>
>>51261636
why are these better than foam ones? Foam ones look comfortable and cheap.
or do they just not do enough.
>>
>>51261102
Idk, I've never really found concerts to be painfully loud, but seeing how many people are saying earplugs are essential makes me think my ears are shot. I was front row right in front of the speakers at The Knife's show a few months ago, didn't have any problems.
>>
>>51261901
You have damaged your hearing.
You will never listen to music as clearly ever again.

Foam earplugs are not designed to listen to music, you loose way too much high frequencies and everything sounds like you are underwater.
>>
how do people with tinnitus live with themselves

never having silence would make me crazy
>>
>>51262074
The same way your parents live with you.
>>

Whiskey and blowjobs.
>>
>>51262111

Search for "etyplugs" or "hearos"

i usually bring earplugs to concerts.

that being said i only use them if the music is too loud

actually i didnt use them at a skinny puppy concert and i walked out of that indoor club without any kind of ear ringing or anything
>>
>>51262247
using them after being exposed is actually doing nothing since your ears have already being damaged
>>
>>51262247

Your ears are damaged, even if you don't feel it.

I was like you when i was 16, i never had ringing ears, until a walked out of a random concert 3 years ago, now i have tinnitus.

Don't fuck with your ears bro
>>
i wear foam ones at clubs. why the fuck would i want to hear the sharpness of modern dance production?
>>
>>51262288
>>51262366
my ears aren't completely shot yet, that's why i wear them

however im sure my hearing is damaged to some extent, so i really want to protect them from any more damage

It's like you don't want your entire life to have a soundtrack. Plen as fuck.

very minor ear trauma actually heals over time, it's just to say to people in this thread that if you intend to bring earplug you just wear them from the beginning

ill try doing that next time

ill also try using those Christmas tree ones instead of the foam ones

yes

been to hundreds of concerts and had my ears raped by some loud as fuck bands. that deafening ring post concert is a reminder of the experience, and only a blasphemous bitch nigga would deny themselves that feeling of having their heads fucked by a great band. earplugs, psh, i spit on you. i bet you wear condoms too dont you faggot?

Where can i find some comfortable/fitting non-foam ear plugs? Im afraid they'll wont fit since i could never wear those in-ear headphones.

ACS Pacato High Fidelity Earplugs
>>
>>51261636
These suck. They reduce everything to bass + vocals. Guitar and drums sound like crap.
I always end up taking them out. But they're good for when the performer play songs you don't care for.
>>

But you better not mosh with it
>>
>>51262136
>>51262696
why do ear plugs cost so much? id imagine they're just plastic...
>>
It wasn't the occasional concerts that fucked my ears, it was when I started having weekly band practices. There's always a slight ringing now, I have to always have on some background noise or I go crazy. Can't sleep if I don't have a fan on high to drown it out.

Wear the plugs.

I definitely have some minor tinnitus already. I'm 23, first noticed it six months ago. I don't go to really loud shows, but of course you can get damage at any show. I've always had hearing loss, so it's not like I've defiled a virgin set of ears. I still regret not taking better care.

That said, bring plugs to every show. Bring the shitty foam ones if that's all you have, it doesn't matter. Don't be like me.

I work in a loud manufacturing plant and I cant hear anything but a low hum with these bad boys in. Buy 5 and youll be set for life, you can wash and reuse them into infinitude
>>
I don't need them after I saw my bloody valentine.
>>
>>51263049

I have the same at my work place, but i think they block too much sound for concerts
>>
I've had tinnitus since I was a kid so I don't really have a need for them. But I saw Philip Gorbachev live and sometimes bass was so awfully loud I wished I had a pair on me.
>>
>>51261102
Where are you seeing Interpol? I'm seeing them the 17th in Columbus.

>>51264222

It's a little-known fact that tinnitus isn't necessarily linked to hearing loss. I have tinnitus but have my ears checked regularly and am told I have very good hearing.
