anyone else looking forward to Annie's upcoming politically inspired album?
I hope she goes full antifa, and rallies the troops

Really makes me think
St. Vincent is good.
What's up with old people not listening to any new music? Do people just stop liking music at a certain age?
They never liked music to begin with, only certain sounds that vaguely remind them of fucking in the back seat of a Camaro in 1981.
same reason girls don't really usually go digging around for obscure shit
whether we admit it to ourselves or not, most of us are in this for the social elitism aspect
old people and girls don't generally get social self-satifaction out of being music snobs the way young men do
as you get older, you're either going to let go of that inclination, or you're going to funnel it into other things, like your career and your family
if you stick with music elitism into your 30s, it might be an indication of lingering insecurity or emotional immaturity

This, music acts essentially as a form of fashion and a way to fit in with others for a large portion of the population. This is why so few people actually bother to try finding music they like outside of the radio. The exception to this is when people want to fit into a specific scene like metalheads or whatever. When people reach an age where fashion stops mattering and they've already gotten married, they don't have anymore need to fit in by listening to new music so they completely stop paying attention to it at all. Only when the music serves to evoke some kind of nostalgia from years past do they enjoy it, the rest is pointless noise for them.
What do you guys think of The Dear Hunter?
They're fucking great.
>>70785630
Honestly, they get a lot of shit for literally no reason. I wish that they were more popular but at the same time I know that if they were that their fanbase would be really cancerous.
Also II > IV > III > V > I
buttprog shit
Opinions on Neil Cicerega?

BROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So basically I'm starting a hip hop project, and pic related is one of the rappers on it.
That was a picture I snapped off the fly a couple years back, but looking back at I realized it could serve as a brilliant album cover.
But just having it as it is won't cut it - any ideas on how I could use this for an album cover?
I wan to give it the Vaporwave treatment, but I'm not sure how
Thank you!!
you're welcome
no prob man

I got an idea, give me ten minutes and keep this bumped.
Post your (current) favorite album and film as well as the last book you read and have random scrubs make assumptions about you. It only works if you also do it to someone else's post though.

You recommend things to your friends but it never goes well
How is it?
Idk
I thoroughly enjoy some of the songs (Jump Out The Window, Moves, Owe Me, Halfway Off the Balcony) but overall doesn't really feel like an album to me. Like halfway a story that just goes way off track. Gonna keep listening to it though before judging any more.

>but overall doesn't really feel like an album to me. Like halfway a story that just goes way off track
What's an album supposed to be? Some have a story to tell but most are just random shit
Thoughts on Cloud Nothings' new record?
I miss the complete desperation and melancholy which were present in AoM and HaNE as well as Baldi's shouting. However, it's still a good record and the song Realize My Fate is godtier.
Modern Act is a fan-fucking-tastic song but none of the other songs really grabbed me. And I've seen some people talking about the production ruining it and I kind of agree, there's something about it that makes it worse than it maybe could have been.
>>70785134
meh. I loved their last two but this one just isn't memorable

WHEN I GET UP THIS IS WHAT I SEE
WELCOME TO REALITI
the prominent neo-psych influence sets it apart imo
also
>burned by shitty 90s albums with an abnormally long last track that just adds fucking silence
>expect the same shit from this
>is actually a 16 minute long post-rock song
>>70784755
Totally fucking agreed! I found most of their albums after Source Tags lost a lot of the spirit that made their debut so great...but this album is fucking great...terrible cover though, so I never post it
>>70784755
It's a pretty great album, also a really pleasant surprise on release because their last few albums were really dodgy.
Also weird that Trail of Dead are rarely mentioned here. They seem pretty /mu/core (arty post-hardcore/indie rock, have an album that got a 10.0 from p4k)
>>70784755
Oh wow seriously? That's actually neat. I've always wanted to see one of those 18 minute end tracks actually be 18 minutes and not just a 3 minute song with 13 minutes of silence and a minute of random stuff or a bonus track.
Talk about whatever you want here, but what's your favourite album? Pic related, it's mine.

Go home Will

Literally everyone's favourite album of CSH is Twin Fantasy.
is it true that Will is a degenerate furfag?
