How the fuck are you supposed to listen to an album like this objectively? It's pretty much impossible to think about this music in a theoretical or even artistic way. How are you supposed to cold-heartedly analyze this music and ascribe a rating?
This isn't like with Carrie & Lowell where you can dull the tragedy with "Oh the guitar playing is excellent" or "The development of the track over the chord progression is stellar." Phil doesn't make that kind of music, not often anyways. With this you have to look the sadness in the face and fucking deal with it.
How the fuck could you rate or review this?
