Meet Black Light Syndrome. Steve Stevens, Tony Levin, and Terry Bozzio. OMG, right?
Listen to album, zzzzz. Name other "supergroups" that completely underwhelm.

GTR featuring Steve Hackett and Steve Howe turned out to be shitty 80s AOR instead of prog. Same with Asia (Howe, Carl Palmer, John Wetton)
"A supergroup featuring members of the Stones Roses, the Smiths and Joy Division? Wow!" I hear you say. Well tough shit it's all their bassists, one of them moved onto guitar (and quitting halfway through the album recording) and a literally who on vocals.

Asia always felt like a terrible hangover after Bruford and Holdsworth left U.K. Like Wetton thought the problem with U.K was he didn't sell out enough.

More like mr. Butthole!
Surf This! Nazi fuck!
>It's everyday BROOOOO
What did he mean by this?
I've found a few groups which seem to have something in common about their music despite their vast differences:
They focus on the voice and organize the music around it to make it more powerful.
cLOUDEAD, Why?, and thepAperchAse are the groups I'm referring to; and I'd love a recommendation of more groups like them.
Maybe there could be a list/chart of it if there's enough of it out there.

Also, since I feel someone my bring it up, I'm aware these act already belong to their respective genres, but I'm hoping someone will notice what I mean and there will be examples of it across many genres.

Were The Beatles really seen as cultural leaders by edgier Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Jefferson Airplane fans etc, or were they hated by them?
>>73199337
They all inspired and were inspired by each other in those days. Beatles, Who, Kinks, Velvets, Doors, Hollies, Zombies, etc.
>>73199337
>Bob Dylan
He's pretentious enough as it is and should not be seen as a revolutionary the same way as the Beatles were (undeniably talented nevertheless).
>Velvet Underground
I'm actually not sure. I like both VU and the Beatles, I can imagine people at the time probably had similar thoughts unless they were /mu/tier elitists.
>Jefferson Airplane
Normie tier "dude acid lmao" SHIT
it was like a reboot of popular music.
there weren't that many genres, that many borders.
there were new sounds, new music, it took a few years until everybody kind of went their own ways again.
