Era Vulgaris is a fantastic album, I don't know why it gets so much hate. It's dirty, decadent and robotic, a great listening experience. QOTSA is one of the few bands that doesn't have any bad or even mediocre albums. Their work always rank from good to masterpiece.

This. Era Vulgaris perhaps requires you to be in a more particular mood than other QOTSA records, but when you're in that mood, then holy fuck does it get your rocks off. I find that it's the closest Josh Homme ever came to realising his so-called "robot rock" sound, and the ugly decadence of Era Vulgaris is what the name "Queens of the Stone Age" conjures up the most when I hear it.
