Post-Punk is really underappreciated on this board.
Ive been listening to The Raincoats, The Sound, The Chameleons, and Siouxsie and The Banshees a lot lately.
What are some post punk bands/albums you feel are underappreciated here?
The Raincoats are fantastic. Their sound is like a melting pot of post punk, twee pop, and the velvet underground.

They have fans here but not many. Solid band with a lot of good albums.

There's an ongoing, dedicated guitar and bass thread, but no thread for the backbone of the band?
All percussion, all genres welcome. Yes, even you losers with vibrophones. Yes, you pizza-faced blast beat addict metalheads. Yes, you up-your-own-ass jazz cats.
Talk gear, influences, projects, etc. Help me compile a list of resources like the guitar thread has.

Here's a pic of my kit. No clue what brand the shells are, there's no branding in them. They came out of a crackhead's basement. Sabian hats, Paiste China, Zildjian Megabell ride, Stagg splash, Meinl Classic Dark crash (which is sick and highly recommemded) and Zildjian bell. Evans heads. I use sticks from a local stick maker called Rich Sticks. Good shit. Ask me about why my kit is set up like that.
As far as influences, Thomas Pridgen and Brann Dailor were early ones. Big fan of Darren Cesca, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Jean-paul Gasper, Dirk Verbeuren, and people who can do EDM sounding shit on an acoustic kit.

Dale cover is sick. The melvins stuff where they have 2 drummers live blows my mind. As some basement ass crust punk I can't imagine being that tight.

How do I sing like him? I can already compose music on a similar (if not higher) level.
do a daily ritual of scaruffi's semen milkshakes, squats and deadlifts (don't forget the squats)

Why even say that? Obviously you can't and now no ones going to help you and will just call you faggot, which you are.

I hated this at first but holy shit this might be one of the best records of the decade. IMO more important than TPAB
anybody else giving this a second chance?
>>5234
bump
probably b8 but ima use the chance to talk about this record anyways.
it definitely grew on me but i'm p biased since ILYH is one of my favorite albums.
pure comedy is better than backlash would suggest, but the boring/bad tracks on it really hold the album down from greatness. if i could cut the album down i'd get rid of birdie, bigger paper bag, smoochie(one of the worst tracks fjm's put out ever), and two wildly different perspectives. highlights are good, but the albums not that great overall.

I'm thinking of finally switching over from pirating most of my music to actually paying for a streaming service.
Which one is the best to get? Spotify? Apple Music? Tidal?
spotify is the one to go for android, apple music is fucking garbage on there. if you have an iphone idk then
haven't tried tidal
>>5178
Actually paying for one? Spotify I guess but I run into plenty of music that just isn't on there all the goddamn time.
Apple Music is ass even with an iphone which is why Apple keep resorting to stunts like exclusives like it's a fucking console.
Tidal probably has the best player for the 200 albums that are on there.
Google Play Music is not worth paying for. Plain Youtube is actually better.
Don't forget to get the bandcamp app. Still free, new music but it could be better.
>>5178
What is dead so I gave up on downloading. Spotify doesn't have Animal Magnetism by Merzbow so it's a shit service but I use it to listen to things when I'm not basking in my olden days FLAC
I'm bored as shit. Can I play guitar and you guys guess what song I'm playing?
I'll start off easy and get more obscure.

I unironically enjoy die antwoord
What's their appeal to you?
I have a buddy who does too. He says that they're just crazy as fuck. He's a druggie though.
>>5169
theres just a fun energy and weirdness to them, i know its all an act but the beats and the sillyness and weirdness of it is just kind of compelling
also yolandi is so fucking hot
