It was a political issue that impacted and threatened local communities and lives including local economies. But because it disrupted drug and pedo rings, a cornerstone of the left, it was deemed bannable and the main and regular participants were targeted. Even more so when it started making head lines in blog outlets thinking they are news and YouTube videos and all over twitter. We were actually saving lives and improving while protecting communities, not getting gookmoot hauled in front of Congress too.

It's a different world when moderators are political soldiers (instead of impartial) that can't stand being wrong and weaponized autism is doing what it does so well. But that's also part of the reason why /pol/ is under constant heavy attack.

Being in charge of any group just needs some clear boundaries. Set them for yourself and never waver. People respond to this easily and it makes moderation easy. Set your own style and everything works out well.
In the real world I was managing people for a long time and I have a very anarchic style of supervision unless things needed real direction. My staff were wonderful because on normal days they needed nothing but on problematic days they quickly obeyed because they understood the importance.

Whatever rules apply there are always ways to stand out and become invited. It's not as simple as 'you can't just apply'. Thanks for the info though.
