I watched the first episode of MLP once as a joke and it was horrible, is it true that it's justt a bad episode? Where should I really start watching?

I just dont like the show. It came off as drab at some parts and solutions to problems seemed to be more complicated then necessary.
I also didn't watch just 1 episode, only a retard judges a series by one episode. No I unfortunately wasted about 3-4 hours of my life and watched a whole season

I haven't watched the show in years but iirc the 2-part season 2 finale was really good. The song was especially top tier.
