Yeah, it had slightly wonky animation and simple dialogue instead of much more refined animation (no blame here since they were just starting) and dialogue that doesn't constantly holds the viewer's hand and explains everything. Considering how often I see "It isn't only for girls" I'm surprised one would prefer S1, which is generally more dumbed down in that respect.

S1 does have a different feel to it, a vastly inferior feel. I really don't get the hype over season 1, it was really mediocre compared to the later seasons. Even the "best" episodes of season 1 are boring by todays standards, sonic rainboom was just dull compared to something like flight to the finish.

I can't stand season 2's nuplots. Nothing ever happens and I'm stuck with the characters acting like Emo Peter Parkers on their Toby periods.
And in seasons 4-7 when we actually get interesting premises they get ruined by the emo Peter Parkers yelling and screaming "take me seriously, I'm evil, but also in great pain haha why am I laughing like a retard." The long-awaited Celestia episode was so retarded.
