how could applejack be fixed/improved/saved as a character?

Applejack is pretty clearly on the low end of the popularity, both in toy sales and in character popularity-- not only with the adult fandom, but ALSO with the target audience.

She struggles with her episodes, and often tends to stumble over other characters carrying the episode for her or engulfing the focus of the episode away from her.

She almost never gets any advertising or image space in ads and promotions for the show and toys, and always gets snubbed out of special sets like the Mcdonalds toys or that Goth mane six collection set they made.


What could be done to improve applejack or fix her with the fandom? Is it even POSSIBLE at this point to fix her, or would it require changes to have been made when she first introduced in S1 to improve or fix her?
