I tried to think once what a Rarity&Twilight episode would be about and what those two have in common. First thing that cane to mind is historical art and fashion. Twi loves history and Rara loves art. Second is Canterlot, it's Twi's old home and Rara's favourite city. And uh... that's it. Both ideas don't have much to do with their personalities and have no conflict in them. There probably hasn't been a Rara&Twi episode because it's hard to come up with an idea for one.

I'm probably wrong, though. Any good Twi&Rara fanfics out there to prove me wrong?

Anon, let me be 100% serious here. You have to get help, you have to sort this out. My whole life I've been surrounded by the drunks. From my mother, who used to drink to a point when she didn't recognise me anymore, my father, who lives in a middle of nowhere in a village full of people who drink every single day, to my friends who ALL drink too.

I used to visit my dad once a year every year and I've seen how people faded away one by one because of alcoholism and I learned that no matter how many years you've been drinking it's never a bad time to stop, because it WILL always get worse, even if you think it can't. Even just seeing people who only have known drinking in their life for the past 20-40 years was so depressing, so as a fellow Twifag I only ask of you, don't end up like this. You can argue that you'll end with her sooner that way but it's not the way you want to go down towards her.

I myself am not without sin of course, I'm a social drinker and I always start chain-smoking when I drink, and coughing like you're barfing your lungs out isn't really pleasant - at least you didn't mention that you smoke, so good on you. And at least you don't have a friend who's eager to fight you if you disagree that his waifu is the best pony every time you drink together

I'm pretty sure that saying that AA meetings are drinking buddies is an urban myth that alcoholics tell themselves and others so they have an excuse not to go to one. How would he know if he has no friends? If he attends a meeting, he'd see why it's not even possible—the first half hour is reading from the literature, and the next half hour is people sharing what they took from the chapter and their experiences with recovery pertaining to it.

I am of the strong opinion that nobody can help an addict who isn't ready. His life has to become unmanageable; he has to be broken beyond repair and be willing to do anything. This anon is not there yet. I think it'll take the death of his parents before he hurts enough to be willing to do anything. Just pray his breaking point comes before he dies, or he'll die with no soul.

One thing the basic text says is that we learn to stop blaming other people or circumstances for our drinking and accept personal responsibility. AA has a 24-hour phoneline as well, you can order the basic text, and they extend support to people in regions where there are no meetings if you seek it out. You have no excuse even if none exist in your area (which they do if yours is one of the most drinking countries in the world). What'll it be? Do you have a sincere desire to stop drinking or will you make excuses until you die?

Sorry to be harsh, but you have to realize how serious this is. You are killing yourself both literally and metaphorically, but if you are not willing, no-one can help you. As I said earlier, I think you should continue drinking until the pain becomes intolerable and you become willing to do anything. Then you will stop making excuses for yourself.
