Is there a point doing anything in that space? One way or another that area will be unusable unless we have the means and the pixel art to build something there right now, and we have neither. Under the new cooldown rule, building over existing stuff is very time-consuming, but I guess it can't be helped.

I always liked the old rule better. It would force the players to battle over a small area that you could easily navigate. It's too easy now to go somewhere remote and build there undisturbed. In the past at least we all had to stick together to get anywhere. Now all you need is a clean area, a bunch of untouched white pixels and a bot.

Well, someone built an Esperanto flag there a long time ago. Then, after the change to the cooldown system, some dude decided to put dark turquoise pixels on it. Not much more to it. It took him a very long time, even with 30sec cooldowns, to cover it completely, but he was persistent and I'm not sure if there was any resistance. Might be the same guy who did the attack on lewd Anonfilly yesterday, actually. The MO is very similar. Only goes for easy, unprotected targets like the Megaman sprite a while ago. Utilizes virgin pixels to his advantage. The attack strength often seems to be equal to 4 IP addresses. A nuisance, but cannot do much on his own.

The border building was always very spontaneous and as soon as an attack was over, nobody cared about it anymore and we had some ugly half built border. The area around the void gift was a wasteland for a very long time already … the people who built the void gift didn't even finish it and weeks later bots had to clear the rest.
As soon as the triggered faggot, who is currently rogue void, gives up, nobody will care about the border anymore and nobody will run the Userscript-Bot there.

I added the part of the border which is currently relevant.
You can find it in the Bot as "Rainbow Border". It is building line-by-line.

this is bullshit. you can do it way more easily by just rendering the grid.

Here, have a example: the target pic is 100x100, and here we've got the bigger ungridded version that's 500x500. So each 1x1 pixel in target image is a 500/100 == 5x5 box . So you simply set the grid width to 1 and grid spacing to 5px (if you eg. upscaled 100x100 pic 8 times, that is you have 800x800 picture, then you set the grid spacing to 800/100 == 8px, etc.), and voilà, you have gridded the image without any nonsense brush mangling shit.

Well, this to me is a very major chapter of /mlp/ixel history now closed. We're past our high point, and I guess the ride is actually officially over. Assuming the game did not get changed in any way? I dunno, probably more of the same. More rainbows, more black pixels, more flags, more out of the way works that will never be seen due to the sheer size of the canvas, etc. What else is there to build? There's only so much you can do without some dev tinkering with the game and switching things around to keep things fresh. Maybe some people, like the mlpixel.org guy, would keep the game alive by hosting modified versions of the game with different rules and features.

It would probably take a while, but it should be possible to reuse snapshot-taking scripts to save the information about the entire 2000000x2000000 area, and use the saved state of the canvas as a base for unofficial servers.
