I hate /mlp/ so fucking much. This place is worse than ponychan, eqd, reddit, and tumblr combined.

When I talk about ponies on /co/, it's more fun.
When I talk about ponies on /v/, it's more fun.
When I talk about ponies on /tg/, it's more fun.
When I talk about ponies on /b/, it's more fun.

Why? Because all of those places are full of fans who left and are at least a little interested in getting back in. /mlp/ is full of bitter ex-fans who now hate the show and the fandom.

I think reversed gender roles are stupid. That is to say I think assuming that there are reversed gender roles in Equestria is stupid when all evidence points to traditional, if libertine, gender roles.

I don't like greentext as a format. I don't mind greentext stories per say, but reading/writing in greentext is a chore compared to standard prose.

I liked MMC

I don't hate shipping, even if it involves two characters who probably wouldn't be together in the show's canon. As far as I'm concerned a ship is just a story about two characters, and I see no reason that you can't go outside the established canon to tell a story. Though I don't ship characters seriously myself either, I just do it for storytelling, I just don't get bothered by it like a lot of people here do.

Glimmers Backstory is the only reason I don't feel that much for her character. If it was even a bit stronger, she'd easily be one of the better characters in the show.

Shit you're not wrong with that. It often does feel like a pity and salt party here with tons of ex-fans trying to force their opinion onto others that the show is shit (in other words, trying to ruin the fun for others and persistently deconstructing the fandom they seem to love so much)

I mean discussions about quality are alright but overdoing it and actively ruining the fun for people who may have lower standards is...just unnecessary.

Personally, I'm most bothered by the divisiveness of the place. It seems like people believe parts of the show to be devoid of either strengths or weaknesses depending on personal bias. We could have much more interesting discussion if we went over the merits of individual details and acknowledged that even bad episodes have parts that offer something of value.
