It's because Zecora was done by Lauren Faust that used her for an innocent story about judging based on looks and racism. It got a lot of backlash seeing as how some people weren't too happy that they were showing Blacks and Native Americans as completely different species so I assume they decided to stop with that. That's probably why we don't see buffalo anymore.
