I guess for some people MLP really is a 'phase' considering how little they care about it after moving on.

I think the most accurate way of putting it is that Weaver eventually started drawing almost nothing but weird fetish porn and that's why we never hear from him anymore. Sure, he did bandwagon with some other fads, but I think once he realized people were cool with him drawing monster tits it became the thing he wanted to do all the time.
