I was kind of disappointed that Rainbow wasn't faking her kidnapping to inspire AK to have hope and save her. Dash would never go down so easily and so willingly.

Hm... pretty alright episode, though kind of boring. The new set piece of the arab/egyptian village was neat, and the legend of the lady with the sphynx was cool, but over all just not a lot going on. Beat by beat episode that feels like a generic kid adventure novel, so about right for Daring Do.

I would have been set up for this if I had known if there was an episode today, but of course this is an actual leak so neither I or anyone else could have known. As it is I don't see any poll that's going up now getting more than sixty ratings, so it's just not worth it.

I've always hated Pinkie for her autism, and her action in this very scene made me feel less antipathy towards her. She actually reels in Dash's autism and acts as the responsible adult by saying 'well if you don't want help, that's fine.'

As someone who has literally purposefully not watched an episode that features Pinkie Pie as a protagonist out of pure apathy since she babysat the Cake twins (probable) years ago, this was a nice surprise and she's well on her way to redemption desu

Might as well a weekend with double pony. Here is my take on the episode:
>Pinkiedash is a great and sadly underused pairing
>did anyone notice Pinkie's voice is extra squeaky this episode?
>first time Dash's relationship with Yearling isn't one-sided which drastically decreases the annoyance level
>Egyptpones are cool, good worldbuilding
>Yearling just happened to be in the area for the plot to advance on two different occasions
>I'm not one to talk about pacing much, but the backstory on the statue happened three-quarters of the way in
>Cabelleron being the bad guys was visible from a mile away
>Cabelleron botched his own plan when he revealed himself but then again he already had here where he wanted her
>just what was up with those gas apparatuses, those just make no sense

So this episode improved the relationship between Rainbow Dash and Yearling, it had Pinkie as a great supporting character and the story was set in an interesting place. On the flipside, the plot was predictable and carried by conveniences and oddities. Rating: 7/10 - IGN.

Regardless of who Pinkie is written by she's almost complete shit in her own episodes. When she appears as a supporting character it goes pretty well.
This time around she was only there to act as the voice of reason while Dash sperged and Daring Do had issues. An odd role for Pinkie but one which demanded less boisterous retardation than she is normally prone to.
I like Pinkie best when her mouth is shut.
