I like being our group's resident wet blanket. It's a fun dynamic when the immortal mare is more carefree and less responsible than the little squirt we play. There is a counter set into the wall with a door aside it, and standing at the counter is a gruff looking pony.

He's balding, with only a the back of his mane and some sideburns left on his head. He is wearing a leather apron with odd implements poking out the top of the pockets.

He let's out a low growl and then says, "Joyride. Great. What do you need?"

"Don't be like that, Jiggly." Joyride says, walking up to the counter, "I just need some keys made, here."

She hands him the pieces of tape with the blackened key imprints.

He looks at them and then says, "Now what kind of trouble-"

So I just started reading the archive of this thing and I wanted to know if it is at all related or connected to the world of MLP that I'm familiar with? Does this story take place in another pony country that neighbours Equestria? Or is this an alternate universe thats populated by ponies or what?

I've gotten to chapter three and I don't understand why no one thinks of taking Emerald to Canterlot or Ponyville to get Princess Celestia or Twilight to get the ring off and/or protect him from his evil step parents.

this is set shortly after the events of the Sirens being exiled by Starswirl. So this is long before the mane 6 were even born.

And yes this is set in another country far away from Equestria.
