Continuing discussion from last thread, AJ, Romance, what's the dealio? Someone suggested maybe Rarity has the best shot, but the Flurry thing kind of makes it seem like AJ wants a big family, which presents an... obvious hurdle.

I would totally be for Rarity, but honestly, she's also fine being single. We already have enough complexity as it is. No real reason to add on top of it. I say hold off on any romance for AJ until we get to trim some of the fatty plotlines we have going. She's just not going to have time if she has to run around all over Equestria and it doesn't help that we have our own fucked up sense of time where everything happens in the course of one day.

Sorry mate but I can't back you up on that one, Chrysalis has countless major development moments both with and without him, her feelings are always present but never chained, and likewise with every other one in the group. 42 was not dependent on her love to make her final battle meaningful, Spitfires feelings enhance her development but her story of coming back to work will not fall apart if he were to die, and Caddys love for him will always be the biggest part of her, but never enough to keep her actions devoted to him.

I can agree with a lot of the arguments but this one is plain wrong, and would only hurt what you're trying to do when someone pointed it out.

Very strange artstyle for the nose, might need to work on that. Without the curve and putting it too far from the mouth makes it look VERY strange.

Also, the mouth should be further to the left, that sidemouth with the color bleeding into the mouth makes it look like she has a second eyeball on her face. Not bad, the color scheme looks alright and the eye placement and expression with it is great, but needs some minor touches.

Also, I would try to smooth out and not over-bleed the boundary lines, a bit of cleanup means the world as far as keeping it looking consistent.

I have to get into drawing Changelings eventually. 's a bit tougher because their defining characteristic isn't their hairdo or coloration but... something else. I'd consider it training. Also seriously considering to stop the 'draw/post one art piece a day' thing until I am better at this so I wanted to pick a character I have plenty time to work on if I wanted.

Coloration actually comes into play with certain lings. Like Chitty and 13. Their colorful parts are orange for the underside and a more brunt orange-red for the top. You don't get to see much of the top from this angle but it's there.

Hair only comes into play with those with it like Chitty, Chrysalis and Arana. SHUT IT PEOPLE WHO DENY IT! I SAY SO! REEEE! And those with wigs and I use wig variants to spice that up.

Another thing you can do is Neck Crest. I've always made every ling have unique Neck Crest. Not only that but I've also done that with the ears.

There are plenty of things to work with but they're subtle. So you really need to figure out how to put their demeanor in their facial expression and body stances if you want to further set them apart.

Anyway, good luck, keep practicing and you'll be fine.
