I'd be more inclined to think it'd be reversed honestly; Slice of life "cute horses doing cute things" content is a proven "safe" route, while "pony toys in armor having adventures" is an unsafe and risky route.


So they'd want to put the riskier venue on the internet, either via netflix or Youtube where there's less worry about offending parents and censors (like how shows like legend of korra or voltron are on internet provided methods of distribution), while the safer route would be on "mainstream" distribution, I.E., TV.

Just a general feeling. It feels too soon to diverge like that, before situations, events and locations can develop more fully.

I want glimmer to "grow her own wings" (the metaphor sense, not the literal sense, sperglords) and find independence from the mane 6 in Canterlot with a newly (re)fostered relationship with sunburst, taking on an important role for that. As well as that, I also want the locations and events already known about in the series but not yet visited or fully fleshed out yet to be done, before introducing new things from within a series divergence.

Basically I want a more full world building before moving to new things.

differences are that Sunset isn't as Intellectual/books focused as twilight is however, and while intelligent lacks the general focus on more nerdy characteristics. This is why Turning Twilight in EQG from being a leader into merely being the nerdy "Smart guy" of the group is a good change, as it lets them explore that aspect of twilight more while shifting the other character aspects over to Sunset instead.

The mane six as a group have kind of been gutted since starlight showed up. But you can still see her guiding the group in certain scenarios, like saddle and row review.
