her goal is essentially character growth, there's nothing wrong or abnormal about that being a goal, especially in this show. she has a leadership role coming in the future too.
Also she has only used her magic on other ponies twice, and you should be able to see the difference in her understanding of the situation and understanding of others (aka her solution in arp makes sense to get the job done, her solution in eltsd makes absolutely no sense)

I relate with almost everything she does.
2 out of 3 of her friendships are based almost entirely around relating to someone else.
