Where was the link between AJ and rockhoof again? apart from them both being earth ponies, there's not really any correllaries between the two.
Mistmane is basically a super magical version of rarity being about generosity and bringing out beauty in things, Flash is dash with a sex change with the loyalty, bravery and best at flying thing, but where was rockhoof like AJ again?
There was nothing about honesty with him nor farming, nor family. He had more in common with DASH than Applejack given his focus on ambitions and wanting to be a guard/military pony.
