3.5 years is the bare minimum amount of time that could have passed, and since horses are pregnant for 11 months i would suggest its been a bit longer than that as a bare minimum.
although in reality im sure each season is its own year.

Yeah, I agree with that but for some reason (writers' goofs) in season 4 it's stated that it has been one year since season 1 (yeah, after two fucking winters).

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's a TV show so the characters don't age, a la The Simpsons, but what would I know eh
