So what's the deal with Japan, Roman and Scandinavia cultures? Are they all from Equestria? Are their cultures preserved? Or is modern towns like Appleloosa and Phillydelphia suppose to be what's left of them?

That looked more like China than Japan.

>cherry trees
>china

They're ponies who live in other parts of the world that aren't included on the official map.
>>30815704
Frankly, it's annoying when they do this kind of crap, tossing ponies into more and more culture archetypes, because it limits potential race diversity.
Like, before these cats in the movie and this episode, I thought it would be cool for this world's version of japan to be inhibited by nekos.
Egypt is dog people in my head related to, but separate from diamond dogs, instead being similar to Anubis.

>Ponies can literally control the natural processes of the world all the way down to "Will it rain today?"
>Be surprised when there are ponies all over the world.
This is also pre-unification, given that each legend only featured members of one particular race with the exception of the apple ancestors.
You're also thinking in terms of monospecies.
It's not outside the realm of possiblilty for two seperate species to adopt the same style of culture, even if the details differ.

You are not obligated, as a fan, to think about the logic of the show more than the writers themselves. It's actually better if you don't.
By spending the time to write this post you have gone over that line. There's no reason to do that and you should stop.

They're Korean. It's a slight nuance.
>>30815794
This is just a gross generalization of east asia.

>tfw we will not get a decently fleshed out Zebra Civilisation for African cultural groups
I want to see Zulu and Great Zimbabwean kingdoms in poner world.inb4 mud huts

Mud huts.

Fuck off. stop trying to relate your country to anything. I can't see any relations or whatsoever

(THE) ZULUS ATTACK! FIGHT BACK TO BACK! SHOW THEM NO MERCY AND FIRE AT WILL! KILL OR BE KILLED!Truly they are the Mud Ponies.

I've always imagined Zebra's to be a jungle civilization, but Zebra's living on the Savannah is pretty fucking cool as well.

As shown before unicorns come from a feudal society, western unicorn society most closely resembling britain, and eastern unicorns being modeled after japan.
Pegasi have consistently been depicted as having a greco-roman culture and being more warlike.
Earth ponies are nordic and possibly slavic

I've thought of them as Grasslands or Montane-Grasslands inhabitants, since that covers a lot of Africa.
God knows what society structure they have though.
>tfw we could have had the main poners traveling the world each season
>"theres a problem in zebraland, Zecora is already there, move your plump asses"
>the problem is much bigger than expected and it takes 10 episodes to solve.
>they explore the region, meet different cultures, different sentient animals, solve problems.
>episode finales are them facing an enemy back in Equestria using what they learned that season.
>we could have explored 5 regions by now, accounting for 2 equestria-only seasons for whatever reason
>seasonal glimglams so they dont saturate the main cast
>native american horse never
>cute hunter zebra waifu never

Mistmane's clothes was Jeogori, definitely Kimchi.
However, other ponies wore Chink Qipao and buildings were in Japs style
It's what >>30816565 said, an amalgamation created by Orientalism
>>30818225
>Native American horse never
Buffaloes. Also, writing 10 episodes with Zecora rhymes would be torture.
>>30816930
Zecora is a mountain zebra...

I thought it was cool. I like seeing some more world building in there, even if it's just in the context of a legend instead of actual pone history. Notice how each legend and cultural setting corresponded to a different pony race too. Earth ponies in Scandinavia, unicorns in the Orient, and Pegasi in the Greek/Roman setting. It'd be fun to see more of Equestria as well as more pony history. I thought the curved horns were kinda cool too. Guess they didn't wanna risk the eyes, huh? Reminded me of Shydale's style.
>>30816593
Ziggers are not pones, and that is canon.
>>30816593
what i'd like to see is a zebra version of what the Kikuyus could've been

>Guess they didn't wanna risk the eyes, huh?
Probably not, it didn't really work that well with Powder Rouge since pony eyes are designed to be wide and expressive.
