I started and completed my Bachelor's, I underwent, suffered from, treated and eventually cured my crippling depression and anxiety, I started and quit a job I was very successful at at the same time, worked out at a gym five times a week for a year and a half (this helped with the mental health too), fell out with my friends in a major way, travelled huge portions of the world on five or four overseas trips of several months each (/trv/ was here), saw the midnight sun, learned another language, begun to, found joy in, and then fell out of my writing phase, fell deeply in and out of love with a French-American girl over the course of a year (Love was not something I believed I was ever capable of), came home again, re-united with some of my old friends, and after it all I started university with the intention of transferring into Law.

My WAM so far is 95. For you GPAfags that's well into 4.0. I doubt it will stay that way forever, but I'll try my best

Wow. When I phrase it all like that, I've had a wonderful past seven years. I can't say I've ever been happier than where I'm at right now. I have seen and done a hundred a hundred things you have not dreamed of, /mlp/. I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung myself through the world, and I have seen little more than a fraction of it.

A big thing is that your parents simply didnt HAVE to put in as much effort to 'make it' as later generations do, thats why they constantly reinforced the "You can do anything" mantra, for them that actually was the case.
