Do you think the MLP movie could do as well as Frozen?
Not even close.
>>30812441
And Zootopia
>>30812441
Fucking kek no, it'll make around 150 million and thats being generous.
>>30812441
Is there even a single person having high hopes for it?
>>30812441
Hell fucking no, but that's not a bad thing. Frozen made $1.3 billion. It's entirely unfair to compare this to that in terms of box office results.
Will this be a better film than Frozen? Likely. That had a great soundtrack with a weak plot and all-over-the-place writing.
>>30812467
Everyone besides jimfag.
>>30812471
I just wish it were animated withFlash
>>30812441
Afraid not. A percentage of normies will flock to any Disney, and sadly, furries still make up a much bigger demographic than bronies. MLP still has a public perception of being mostly for little girls. I think it's only sliver of hope for major success hinges on surprisingly positive reviews (unlikely, most reviewers will be in a scramble to say, "this was a feature-length toy commercial") and a strong opening weekend that gets others curious (possible if the hardcore fans run a box office blitzkrieg).
>>30812441
Fuck no. That being said, the movie will likely be better than frozen. Frozen was just one of those movies that succeeded despite its overall 'just good' quality. MLP movie could do very well, in the vicinity of 4-600m, but that'd be if we're lucky. It'll probably do around 200m

>unlikely, most reviewers will be in a scramble to say "this was a feature-length toy commercial"
>>30812441
no.
It's amazing how repulsive ponies are on the internet. You can draw futa lolis tearing each other apart with horse cocks and it's ok, but after making a single doodle related to mlp you might want to erase yourself from the internet and hope that no one will ever find out.
The Emoji movie has only pulled in 75m domestically despite having insane marketing reach. MLP only has appeal to young girls, not even teen girls, and a few straggling bronies. It's unlikely to even break 50m domestically and It'd be generous to predict over a 15m opening weekend.

The Lego Movie was a technological marvel filled with insane creativity, twists, and great writing. The MLP movie is a by the book kid's adventure movie with a famous popstar lazily plopped in.
>>30812519
Because you've seen the movie?
>>30812467
About one in 500 people on this planet wants to see it.
>>30812559
That's approx. $200-250 million in gross.
I doubt even 1 in 4 people on this board will go see it in a theater. Most will just wait for an illegal rip.
As for the hard-core bronies (not the people on this board, we're mostly just here to clop and complain) they missed that bus by a few years.
And the target audience will be back in school by the release date. Parents might bring their kids to see it once, but in order to post big numbers like a Disney movie it needs repeat viewers. If they wanted this to be a success it should have come out during the summer vacation or been delayed until the Christmas holiday season.
Prediction; this thing is going to bomb hard.
>>30812713
If they realesed this in summer it would have alot of other movies to compete, October is fine since there is no other children movie in that moth. Also you guy underestimate the power of China's market
>>30812777
>underestimate the power of China's market
prove it anon.
>>30812822
China is a gold mine for kids movies because they're the only ones that are allowed in their commie land.
>>30812441
It would be interesting if it did.
But no.
>>30812844
Will Hasbro release their child-slave labor force from the sweatshop factories that produce plastic MLP toys so they can go see the movie?
>>30813917
They'll do it before Apple does.
>>30812441
No.
It will make a nice profit, but it won't be the highest grossing animated movie this year.
>>30812713
LOL like two people will see an illegal rip (Jimfag and his sock puppet buddy). It's not like the episodes where you can upload it on Dailymotion.
>>30812441
God no.
It will do amazingly well but it won't do that well.
>>30812519
>insane marketing reach
Because nobody wanted a movie about emoji.
