I did a redlining on both your drawing and Nagel's work
a couple of points
>The placement of the eyes
If you notice, the eyes are somewhat small and placed more on the center of the head, not the
base circle, and notice how in the outline of the "Box eye" aligns with the neck. one thing you need to notice, the distance between the hairline and the eyes
Your eyes are very close tou the hairline, making sunset to not have a forehead, while this is easy to mess up, a couple of practice you can grasp a good distance that doesn't look not too short or not too large

>Eyes and nose
Nagel's eyes and noses (As well all his style in general) are very minimalistic, lining the most important stuff (in this case, the nosetrils and the start of the bridge and the eyebrows) so you can fill the vortex alone, if you try to emulate his style, remember he doesn't do a lot of details, he outlines the most important stuff

Other than that, i think your lips are on point of what Nagel does
Like i said with the eyes, the hands are not that detailed, you need to line the most important stuff, so your mind can fill the rest, this is a bit tough, but with enough practice you can do it

So, here's how we find out how old Sunset is, we find out how old Twilight is. The CmC were in first grade as they are shown to be doing simple math which starts in first grade.
So that means that they are 5-7, they've aged by 7 years and are still fillies not ponies. So that means they stay fillies for 12-15 years, meaning that Sunset must be 16 or 17 and Twilight must be in first grade to middle school. Meaning today Twilight is 19-22 and Sunset is 23 or 24. It's been a while since I've watched EG outside of the new shorts, and it has been just as long since I actually did speculation on the passage of time, so unfortunately can't give you as detailed an explanation as I'd like, but I plan on rewatching EG soon anyway.

We can safely assume that EG 1 - 3 are all the same year, Legend of Everfree is the summer, and then the shorts pick back up with the next school year. (Although of course not all of them, as some obviously occur earlier in the series). But what matters most is Dance Magic, because they're at the school a few times showing that the new school year has started.

After S3 ended, I stopped keeping up with MLP, and didn't get back into it until a little after S5 started airing (which is a shame, I would have liked to experience S4 as it aired and apparently it was a golden age on /mlp/)
I remember hearing about EG and I felt it was a really stupid idea
The first time I saw Sunset was through screencaps of Rainbow Rocks, and she caught my heart. I watched both of the movies: the first EG was garbage, but RR was pretty good.
Me taking a break from MLP might have been a blessing in disguise, though. I have a feeling if I had kept going to /mlp/ through all that I would have been influenced by the crowd instead of forming my own opinions about it.
I think EG as a whole could have been pulled off better, but I suppose that's what happens when it starts off as a one-off cash grab. One thing I have noticed is that I was nowhere near as passionate about my love for Sunset as I am now.

I thought Sunset as a character (being an evil reflection of what Twilight might have become under different circumstances) was a good idea that was poorly executed. The first film really didn't impress at all, but it set up RR which was much more enjoyable.

I liked Sunsets design a lot but I didnt really care about her character, was generic "mean popular girl".
When I first saw EqG I hated it but eventually I was indifferent and watched it. I liked it a little bit despite it being pretty lame.
