>anon works at sweet apple acres or sugarcube corner
>AJ's accent is overly done
>"mah" "alraght" "yeehaw" "appul" etc
>anon has some angsty backstory about earth
>all the ponies instantly want sum hmd (unless it's a shameless smut story)
>Twilight speaks in only science talk
>bonus points if the writer is just making it up and has no idea on what he's talking about
>anon's waifu is receptive to his advances immediately and loves him
>all the ponies find anon's sarcasm and douche-ness charming and endearing
>Glim Glam is the story's everyman

>rarara makes anon clothes
>this is especially mentioned in the story when anon's attire is described
These are just a few. Usually one or two isn't so bad, especially if it's good otherwise.

Buck that
Buck this
Buck you
Buck it
Motherbucker
Bucking faggot
Bucking whore
Fuck you

The problem isn't Rarara making clothes, so much as it is that they're bothering to cover this mostly irrelevant thing at all without any interesting spin on it.

>dining
Oof, right in the feels.

Buck you. Nopony gives a flying feather about your horseapple opinions you silly filly.

The story stereotypes are the most believable though. Give me one good reason why the following wouldn't be true
> twilight wants to study an Interdimensional being
> rarity wants to make clothes for twilight's new acquaintance who is staying at the castle (therefore has to look nice)
> pinkie would throw at least a small welcome party
> applejack speaks the way she always does
Its in every story ever because it's what would actually happen

>Howdy ahnon, whatyre yall doen terday? Me and pankah waer thinkin ahve gowin down tah ter kwarry teh eyt appuls
>Howdy Anon, what're you doing today? Me and Pinkie were thinking of going down to the Quarry to eat apples
Pick one

I don't have an image that properly conveys my despair.

Like someone said earlier, people are too focused on those being cliche, or are seeing a symptom without actually addressing the real problem; it's that you should just skip or gloss over these entirely. The rule of thumb is that you're using these cliches because you don't actually plan to expand on them or do anything interesting with them. Otherwise we'd see it fleshed out, maybe partially subverted, or contain nuance that a summarized line of greentext from detractors can't fully capture.
In a way these are microcosms of
>I woke up in the Everfree and now I'm being chased by a Manticore/Timber Wolves!
We've seen it before, and it's clearly not the meat or twist of the story. It's just the author mistakenly thinking that we need to see this guy's origins. Thank fuck AiE rarely had this problem, and thank god HiE on Fimfic eventually caught on.
Now, this isn't always the case. If something happened to Anon's clothes, of course he would go to Rarity. It doesn't matter if they're not friends and he had his stuff tailored by someone else in Canterlot; Ponyville's a small town. There's no avoiding this as long as Anon is in Ponyville, and hey, maybe you're just sick of stories set there. Anyone who complains about this regardless of circumstances is clearly a nudist shill.

It would be out of character for her not to do so at least at first
