Enough to get even but not enough to make a sequel. Rotten score around 50% mostly bogged down by generic writing and stolen elements from Disney movies. But it will not be considered bad because of nostalgia and songs. It will just fade away mostly unnoticed.

Barely breaking even, but sequels because of merch.

this
if Smurfs can flop and still get at least one sequel and a reboot, then mlp will get a couple more movies regardless of how bad it does

I'm more worried about bomb threats for anyone going to go see it

I couldn't imagine dying in a better way than that.

Just look at Winnie the Pooh (2011), a 2d animated film with the same perceived target audience or really an even wider target audience considering it's more gender neutral. It only had a 7.8m opening weekend though there was some things that could have stifled it like being around Harry Potter's release. MLP will likely follow suit somewhere between 7m-15m opening. As for Rotten Tomatoes. I think the inclusion of Sia in such a lazy will cause critics to immediately discredit it as another shitty franchise cash grab. I'd guess around 30-40%.

???

Smurfs 1 was a massive success. Seriously made 560 million. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=smurfs.htm Then the sequel bombed, so they rebooted.

I don't how a shitty movie could kill the fandom. It's happened 4 times, and we're still here.
>>
>>30802789
the smurfs was made to be Ipod bait and be "cozy", the kind of stuff to take a 4 year old of any gender to and get them to shut up.

its a safer kind of movie, and doesn't carry the girls stigma of MLP-- parents aren't going to take their boys to see MLP, they will take both their girls and boys to see smurfs.

are you high? You can't just "break even" and get sequels, even if you have high merch sales.

Look at power rangers. It sold over 100 million (more than it cost), and had RECORD BREAKING toy sales and rents/dvd sales, but its not getting any sequels because it didn't sell 300+ million like transformers or TMNT.
