Dude it doesn't matter. Way better to take a plush or two and some posters with ya then feeling the need to hide something you like for 4+ years or whatever.

If your roomy gives you shit for it just laugh it off and say something along the lines of "yup I sure love that show". Don't make a big deal out of it and USUALLY they won't either as soon as they see you don't care.

So long as you can be confident and not obviously worried/nervous about the MLP stuff people will mostly not care.

Don't ask them to watch it with you, don't extol the virtues of the show, don't try to share your hoard of diaper foalcon clop, just enjoy it. If they have a problem with it, just shrug and move on. This is exactly what happened my freshman year. My roommate was uncomfortable with my small amount of pony stuff. He constantly mentioned it to everyone else on our floor. By the end of the year everyone hated him.

Also, I hope you have other interests. I was in the same position freshman year, and I had other interests that I bonded with my floormates over. I made several friends that I'm still friends with, and I got along well with the rest of my floor (we'd invite each other to go to the dining hall, watch movies, ect), and that includes the grills.

In other words, don't be the guy I knew of at school who wore an MLP belt and a fedora entirely covered in MLP pins. Like, you couldn't even tell what color the hat was.

If you can just be a regular dude that also likes MLP as one facet of your many faceted life, you're golden.

Freshman year I had pic related poster, a Spike plush, a tiny Twilight Sparkle plush, a Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash Funko figurines, and a few shirts I'd wear as normally as any other shirt. Nobody gave me shit. Once I was relaxing with friends in my room, and a very cute girl grabbed Twilight off my bed and hugged her. We had Secret Santa and one of my friends got me MLP pajama pants.

Don't be a fucking weirdo. Shave. Wear deodorant. Keep your room clean. Talk to people. DO THINGS. Go to class. Do non-pony related things sometimes. Join a club. There's gotta be something you like besides pony.

No one's saying you can't watch the show. Watch it! Just make sure it's not the only thing people know about you.

I can't really get my paints any thinner since I do airbrushing. In general probably. I've had people attempt to pick on me/give me shit on more then one occasion throughout the years (holy crap I was such a dweeb) though and its been shut down by me obviously giving no shits and throwing it back in their faces.

Is when Agatrix replied to my initial commission request note, agreeing to make a LS with an adult feature. The way she worded her reply suggested she'd never done it before and she said she was a little uncomfortable, but ultimately decided in my favor. I mentioned already owning one as well which may have helped.
