.mov was one of the things that got me into this hell, along with Cupcakes and my depraved taste in porn.

Some of his animations still hold up, but Shed.mov feels a little more shock value for the kiddies than the others these days. Magic.mov was and is still my favorite. It's the only one with a proper episode structure with buildups and payoffs. The rest feel kind of Newgrounds. Dress.mov was and is still the worst.

I really wanted to like the guy, as he seemed decent enough whenever he tried to be genuine, but he played a character at any cons he went to that was insufferable and I got burnt out on him fast.

The pony.mov thing was what got me into the fandom. The shorts, in my opinion, are still very good. Better than average production values, any dips are clearly deliberately done for the sake of a joke. It strikes a rare blend of accessibility and depth.

I especially liked the Jappleack askblog part of the story. Working multiple mediums together to make a coherent story is something that I rarely get to see, and it worked out pretty well, in my opinion.

I just wish I could download a working archive of the askblog.

At the end of the day, I say it's well above average for fanmade companion work overall, and still quite good for MLP. Both for it's length, use of multiple mediums, accessibility, and actually having a real heart to it all in Jappleack's character arc.
