You're WAY over estimating bronies there dude. The majority of bronies are going to be too self conscious to see it in theaters, and many will just pirate it.
I'd only put down about 20% of bronies going to see it, and only expect them to see it once. And I STILL feel I'm being way overly generous there.

That being said, I think you also lowballed the number of bronies in existence as well, as 500,000 is WAY too damned low worldwide. (they wouldn't be releasing toylines aimed so heavily at bronies if it was that low)


I'd expect about 200,000 bronies worldwide to see it, more or less.

The thing is, Emoji was being backed by Sony's top brass; like, they KNEW it was shit, but their names were riding on it and they had virtually the entire companies assets to throw behind making sure it was a success, advertising and business wise-- so Sony was hell bent on seeing it succeed to a personal level. (things like ratings embargoes are surprisingly effective even when your movie's known to be absolute shit).

On the other hand, MLP is a little shit of a movie with virtually no push from lion's gate themselves: to them its just another movie, and they really don't give a shit if it fails or succeeds.


So the MLP movie is actually worse off than emoji simply due to the amount of effort lion's gate will put forth compared to Sony.

Has anyone actually seen any form of advertising for this movie besides the trailer? It doesn't seem like it's being talked about much outside the fandom.
