nah, the big issue was just that dash didn't go anywhere from there.
twilight keeps coming up with bigger and better spells all the time and it gives her a feeling of progression. Dash just... keeps relying on the sonic rainboom as her one and only feat that she's ever done, and keeps getting worse and worse in all her appearances.

I don't think she's done it again except for canterlot wedding which was done for purely selfish reasons rather than something noble like saving her friend. Albeit originally she wanted to show off.

I do not care for rainbow dash at all but I still count it as one of my top five episodes. There needs to be more friendly competion episodes in this show.

That's nonsense. Twilight's feeling of progression didn't come from her casting bigger and bigger spells, it came from the fact that she became a princess and took on a pupil and actually, you know, progressed. In the same way, Rainbow's progression is her joining the Wonderbolts.

By your metric, every character in the show except Twilight has stagnated progression wise, because none of them have any big feats.

Why the fuck did they introduce Cloudsdale way into episode 16 and they never revisited it again for a long time?

Was it just one of those locations of the week kind of deal like Atlantis? which most adventure cartoons used to do back then.

You start doing something regularly it becomes second nature.

Breaking the sound barrier IRL was thought to be impossible before Chuck Yeager did it in 1946.
Now planes are doing it regularly like it's nothing.
What Dash could do next is break the Sound Barrier Vertically. Which would be more difficult.

The writers would have to come up with more and more outlandish reasons for why and how they're in cloudsdale for everypone but rainbow.

Or getting Scootaloo to a wing specialist in the balloon because Rainbow has the feather flu.

Plenty of that.

Guile's theme does go with everything ;_; so does the sonic boom.
