Fluttershy pretty much would've died here if not for the butterflies. I'm not saying the demise of ponies is new, just that not a single Pegasus noticed her fall off. There's no safety net underneath Cloudsdale. What happens if an infant or toddler Pegasus escapes the attention of his/her parents and wanders too close to a cloud edge? If a resident goes missing after a certain amount of time, do they have designated sweeps beneath the city?

And that thought really got to me: it'd be a fucking trip to walk underneath Cloudsdale It's a big city, and the shadow it casts would be at least a couple square miles. Imagine walking through those shadowy meadows and woods, seeing all the shit that's been discarded or lost over the edge. Perhaps the most horrifying, if you're really looking hard you can find, every now and then, the remains of some unfortunate soul that plummeted unnoticed—pieces of skull, a tiny ribcage, wing carpuses and metacarpuses.
