Semantic Error is about a low life hacker trying to scrape by in a futuristic Equestria.
Recently Cold File has finished a Job for a mysterious client only going by the Name Wintermute, who had File steal information on an experimental medical procedure.
Then File picked up a Griffin at a bar and went on a date with his Landlord, before Buying an android taking on a couple of jobs and watching an earthpony jump off a roof.
>Bits: 7169

>GoodGuy -Hacker needed to crack construction printer software.
(You have accepted this job and received 500 bits in advance to sabotage a printer. You plan on setting it up to make a massive skyscraper sized dildo)
JSI construction contracted under Orange Construction
Site location: Petticoat lane and Arvada Near Equestrian Furniture warehouse
Printer Model: Haddenfield PX4200-T48 GTS

>Judgment -Hacker needed for breaking into personal E-mails.
(It sounds like they plan on preforming some kind of political assassination with the information you recover if you take this one. Pays 3,800 Bits) Meeting at Noon.

This is where our story continues.

Giving the Computer screen another look as the Virtual dildo model stays pulled up , you eventually decide to settle back down next to your new android.
As you do she begins to get back up.
"Oh, I didn't mean to-"
>"I don't actually sleep," your maid responds.
"Yeah..."
>"Would you like me to prepare breakfast?"
"Sure."
>"Anything you want?"
"Nothing specific, no."
Your android maid gets up and begins walking to the kitchen.
>"So, I noticed that your Futon actually rolls out into a bed and your loveseat will also transform into a bed, Would you like me to start preparing them as such when you're about to sleep?"
"I umm... give me some time to think about that."
>"Also, we never decided what I am to do while you are asleep, do you want me to continue simulating a sleep cycle next to you at night?"
You rub your eyes again, grinding the dirt out.
>Before you can answer Brandy's voice sails over to you from your computer, "Last night I picked out a 3D model for the construction printer. We should be ready to go unless you want to customize it. Also, we should talk about the dosage schedule you had me make."
"Isn't it a bit too early for all of these questions?"
>"It's 10 o'clock," Brandy responds, "You've got your meeting with judgment at 12 and the police want you to go to the hospital between 2 and 4 in the afternoon, and meet at inpatient building 2. It's not a good day to be lazy!"
"I know, but, The maid just asked me something and now...Ughhhh"
>"Oh, oh no." Brandy remarks, "File I'm sorry, I'm just used to you and I being... Alone I guess. Go ahead and answer her first."
>>
>>30730998
Let's get the drug schedule out of the way.

See if the constructor model can be modified to have a big fountain at the top.
>>
Hey bath. Have you seen Mr. Robot?
>>
>>30730998
She can roll out the bed if she wants. It'll give her something to do, I guess, and it'd probably be more comfortable anyhow. We can wait until she comes back with our breakfast to tell her that though.
Lets see Brandy's drug schedule.
>>
>>30730998
is there anything maid could fix breakfast wise that could help us get up and going this morning?

Tell maid that she doesn't have to do the sleep cycle simulation tonight. But yeah fixing the bed is nice.
>>
>>30730998
let's turn on the radio or tv. maybe it could serve as background noise as we get ready for our day.
>>
>>30731069
She can do this around 10pm.
>>30731081
so pretty much asking her to cook whatever she thinks will work with whatever me may have.
>>
>>30730998
Lets try the futon for a while.
>>
>>30730998
Making beds and simulating sleep: yes
I think the model is probably good so let's get that dosage schedule out of the way and start getting ready to go out.
>>

"Actually Brandy, I would like to hear about your dosage schedule, but first."
You turn to your android, "Yes on the folding out the bed... I usually just don't' do it, because I'm lazy, and I like your sleep simulation, it's cute. I'm kind of a sucker for cute shiii...stuff. I'll figure out where I want you to Simulate sleep later. Brandy, pop the schedule up on the screen."
>"Right away File!"
Brandy pulls it up and begins explaining things.
>"So for a start I want to alternate between days. 2 Octagons one day I shot of the Fabuloso on another day. 1 cheat day a week. I think I'll consider last night a cheat day."
"Quite the diet. I guess we'll just see where this goes. Let's look at the model."

http://imgur.com/a/BIWky

>"Right Now it's just a basic Dildo, with the big oversized doors you suggested last night as well as swimming pools you told me to but in the half testicles."
You begin cracking up.
"I said that?"
>"Yep! The only other rooms in there right now are just for studtual stability, so we don't kill somepony."
"How big?"
>"About 80 regular stories."
"Brandy this is awesome."
>"Breakfast's ready!" The maid call out.
You go over to the table and find a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of water with some headache medicine.
>"I thought your night might leave you a bit sore." The maid explains.
"Thank you."
You take the meds and begin eating.

Can we put a fountain on the roof?
>>
>>30731357
What should we have maid do while we are out? is there any chores or things that have been needed to be taken care of for awhile? does anything need to be cleaned or fixed around here that we can trust her to do?
>>
>>30731357
I have an idea, but it's probably not a good one.
Can she include an area in the "shaft" to include shafts? Four elevator shafts? Can you make the head flat so it could be used as some sort of plaza or place to party, maybe even throw in a helepad?

I want to shaft to have space for windows. Big windows and not just the frames.

Should this be an office or a a hotel?
>>
>>30731357
It needs an elevator that drones riders off at the TOP and a fountain sounds cool.
>>

>>
>>30731448
What? You mean a normal elevator that a pony could use? What's the purpose?
>>
>>30731357
does it taste good? if so thank her for the cooking.

we should fix a shower while Brandy reminds us again of some of the details about this meeting.

Also what is our current drug supply looking? when do we need to refill it?

It's oatmeal anon. What did you expect? Well unless she added nuts, fruits and other stuff than it'll be plain. Fruits are preferable.

"Well I like it."
>"I'll make note of this preference."
"By the way, Can you sew?"
>"Yes to a certain degree?"
"In addition to cleaning, can you try to fix the loveseat today?"
>"Yes, I can make an attempt and I may be able to mend my dress on a small scale as well if you wish, but I do not now where your sewing supplies are yet. Can you tell mewhere they are?"
"Yeah... I kinda, don't have any... I should probably pick some up while I'm out."
>"I can always buy them for you if you give me the money for them."
"I guess you could, I don't know, I'll give it a thought, you're leg is still broken, so it might be a better idea to keep you inside until it's fixed. I'll think about it."
>"As you wish Mr. File."
You look over your remaining drugs. about 1/4th of the Fabuloso jar is left ad you seem to have 17 pills left in your stash.
"Huh... I did manage to pace myself this week..."
You suddenly get some inspiration for your new building.
"Hey Brandy do you think you could flatten the top of the Dildo, add some windows to the base of the head and put a fountain on top?"

"Brandy, you're awesome, it looks good. Toss on the News while I clean up."
You begin showering.

[Las Pegasus hit today with a massive brown out. Apparently the city of sin was the victim of a freak software malfunction. A cloud of Acid rain following a geothermal even in the jungles south of the Bad lands. The acid will not ne affecting us here in Equestriia but it will be affecting the fractured Griffin lands in a few days to come. The Equestrian Government has already started organizing a relief effort, anticipating the this further diminishing the conditions in the already broken countries to our East. Aid will be sent to both sides in their civil war.]
You get out of the shower and begin dressing up for your meeting.
"Could you remind me what the repairs on our new android will cost again?"
>Brandy begins listing things off, "Buildup in her joints can be steamed out, for 25 bits if you strip her skin yourself, 50 if you let them Strip her skin off. Her, eye will cost about 30 bits to replace, and 40 if you want to give her a set of realistic ones. The facial controls and right leg will still need to be diagnosed before we can get a price."
>"Actually," The maid butts in, "My eye lids are working again, I think something was lodged in my lid controls, so you may be able to skip that repair for the time being if it will save you money."

Also, I wanted to say that there is a Discord somebody set up for my quests Here: https://discord.gg/VxtPhy
But, the reason I've never really mentioned it because I've been keeping an eye on it to make sure it wasn't causing any damage to these thread. As it is, everything seems fine thus far, but a few times I have seen discussion about a current thread in the discord server. That is not the best place for active discussion about future commands and in quest speculation. Please, if there is a thread up for the quest you wish to actively discuss especially if it's about a current choice in the quest, keep it in the thread, since this is where the quest is actually played. Thank you.

>>
>>30731802
Judgment meeting where we get details will probably throw a wrench into all plans, but

1) Judgement meeting.

2) Cops. Dealing with presumable ex-girlfriends.

3) Late night escapades with 3D printers and punks.

>"Last night I picked out a 3D model for the construction printer.

At least it's not a scan. Hate to have to have a police lineup for that.

>>30731396
You genius bastard

I'd be fine with sending the maid out with some cash to go buy shit for us. She's capable enough and it's the sort of thing you have a robot maid for. It's "Normal". Although it might be a bit awkward if/when she runs into the landlord. It might be a good idea to let Brandy track her or tap into her vision on command. You know, so she's never truly out on her own and free to start plotting our downfall.

(has no one suggested asking the zebra landlord with the robo-leg if she has any advice about how to fix a robot's leg?)
>>
>>30731802
I'm more concerned about the leg, since it's leaking shit. We should focus on getting that fixed first. I think we should stick with robotic eyes, since they're slightly cheaper to replace, and also look cuter.
If we have time, we should talk to Tyra and see if she has any tools we could borrow, or any knowledge on how we could fix Maid's leg ourselves. That might have to wait until tomorrow though. We have a lot of stuff to do today.
We should come up with a better name than Maid sometime.

>>30734426
>has no one suggested asking the zebra landlord with the robo-leg if she has any advice about how to fix a robot's leg?
I think I did at least once last thread.

To do after the meeting with the cops at the hospital:

>Look into the Haddenfield PX4200-T48 GTS printer and see if we can hack it wirelessly or not.

>Check for the current firmware for the printer and if it's from Sentinel.
I think it's unlikely as the something like construction might not update their firmware til later.

>"There are two guard patrolling the yard at night and during the day there are guards posted in various sparse locations around the site. The printer they are using cannot print the foundation so there are still some workers prepping the concrete."
See if it's possible to jailbreak the printer so it can print the foundation.

>"Is the printer hooked up wirelessly to anything, like an internet connection or a remote start?"
>>"As far as we know, No. But I and my boss here don't really know that much about these printers."

>Major tech company Sentinel microsystems released a major patch to their products today as security concerns arose. The company urges all of their users to update their systems immediately to avoid potential threats.
Take a look into the patch and get an isolated version of it so you can practice breaking it.

You get a message back from Mister Brown.
>[Greetings, I would like to inform you that we are currently fully staffed besides our tech specialist. we have another candidate, but this individual is not very experienced and we would like to have someone with more if you are still interested. Also, we do have the specs on the system you will be working with as well as one to practice on if you choose to join the crew. regardless of what you choose, I would like to thank you for your time.]
I have an idea. What if we File cracks the copy of the system and offers it to the tech specialist as if they're too "inexperienced"? And in what ways was their new techie inexperienced?

Does File know how to lock pick and and does he own any? What's a hacker without a lock pick set? Going back to your roots man.

>The printer they are using cannot print the foundation so there are still some workers prepping the concrete."
>See if it's possible to jailbreak the printer so it can print the foundation.
When I read that, the thing I was imagining was that the gantry can't reach down to bedrock. Or... you know... there is no bedrock and they have to make pilings. A 3D printer is not a pile driver.

I still get the feeling that Mr. Brown is a cop. But nothing is illegal about receiving "a system to practice on".

>What's a hacker without a lock pick set?
Truth. It's not even that hard to learn. It's one hell of a skill to master, but most shitty locks depend on the masses being ignorant.

"How's your vision right now?"
>"Well the broken eye is getting bad signal which varies in quality with my movements and he other seems to be functioning just fine." The android answers.
"Brandy, remind me to ask Tyra about fixing robotic legs like this."
>"Okay File, Do you think her leg works the same?"
"No idea."
You load Brandy on your PDA, and begin walking out the door.
"Good bye maid."
>"Be safe File!" Your android answers."
You get in your car and start it up. changing the channel on the radio to talk radio.
"Brandy...I really need to come up with a new name for her."
>"Yeah, probably a good idea... File, Are you okay?"
"Yeah, Why?"
>"Last night you were, a little rough looking."
"Brandy, I'm fine. You know I don't have time to fuck off just because I'm not feeling good."
>"Okay."
The radio on your car plays the DJs Jack-ass and Horace interviewing some comedian on 95.4 THE MULE's Morning show, which seems to be replaying. This station was a lot better when they played oldies, but Jack-ass and Horace are really just entertaining enough.
When you finally get to your destination, you explain to a very large stallion that you're here to meet with your contact and you are ushered into the back where a young looking stallion is yelling at the pony you met with last.
>"Grandfather, I swear it's fine, she's not going to go to the police!" The young stallion remarks.
>"You're going to get your ass tossed in Prison if you keep doing this shit, Calm the fuck down Decker." Judgement responds."
>The younger stallion notices you and asks, "Hey, what the fuck is this faggot staring at!?"
>"He's the one I'm meeting with, Get out of here and lay low." Judgement barks back at the young stallion.
The young stallion leaves and you are motioned closer to the table. As you sit down you are next to another Unicorn stallion who is stitting at the table that you've never met before.

So there a time limit to this, or can I be precautions and take as much time as I think I may need?

"Have you guys tried to do anything to Crow before?"
>"No, she only recently became somepony who needed to be taken care of. From a few things that her boss recently said.
"What about health conditions?"
>Judgement takes a sip from his glass, "We don't have any current information about the condition of her health, but if you could say, get you're hooves on her medical records, this would be very valuable."
>"Basically, when we put up the ad we said break'n inta the E-mail, as just a basic idea of what we're looking for. Really any information you can find that'll help us bump the old broad, clean like will be more than good. Oh course, we're gonna need ya to bring the information in here, we'll look it over and let you know if we're all square, or if we need more." The younger stallion states.
IT finally starts to hit you, just how in deep you are. You're about to help some ponies kill the God-princess of Friendship's trusted Security mare. You take another swig and realize how you've begun to sweat.
"Okay, just how long do I have to get this information."
>"The Princess is in town for Princess Cadence's wedding but that has been over for a few days now, we don't know when she is leaving, so we want usable information within, three days from today."

"Three Days! Are you fucking crazy!"
>"Is that a problem?"
"Do you know anything about cyber security, anything at all?"
>The younger stallion steps in, "If you can't finish within three days we want you to check in, to make sure you aren't trying to fuck us. We want you to come in just like if you were bringing us the dirt, and tell us what you've been do'n on our time, and trust me, you will because if ya don't we're gonna find ya and lets just say we're probably not gonna kill ya too quick, but it's gonna happen capeesh?"
"Yeah... I think I do. Fine, Just, you guys have got to have more info on her staff or maybe about Crow's personality?"
>We don't know much about her staff, we haven't seen much reason to look into them until recent. But Crow,She's very direct and to the point, doesn't like many ponies. It's actually a bit odd that she has earned the trust of the Princess of friendship when you really think about it." But past that are ready to start, or do you still have questions?"

Yeah that's pretty ironic. I'm more or less ready. Jeez, only three days.

Who's that pony in the back?

I had a feeling from the beginning that the target would be a princess, but with the lack of evidence at the time I thought otherwise.

Three days is enough for low-hanging fruit. ...Maybe she has some personal email that's not so secure. Hospital records and on-line purchase histories are maybes. Ex-military, head of a serious political figure (jesus, I thought you were talking about the mayor or someone local), and a "very cautious" personality?

...She might simply be secure. Network security is like looking for chinks in armor. Holes, gaps, small mistakes the target makes which opens up larger opportunities. Sloppy loose ends which can be turned into their downfall. But... if she runs a tight ship, it's going to take a lot more than three days.

You paid for intel, and I know I can get you something. The job was to take a crack at email and that I can certainly do. I believe have a vested interest in having a happy client.

The only saving grace here is that she's old. I'm hoping her security forte isn't digital, and that she doesn't bring the digital resources of the military to bear, which is certainly in the realm of possibility given such a prominent role. Otherwise... **Looks them dead in the eye** Are you going to kill me for failing an impossible job?

(Don't mention you "need to go see the cops in an hour". DO NOT mention "cops". NO)

(And actually, her being ex-military could be useful. The military is balls to the walls serious, but they face a lot of advanced persistent threats. Remember how last year every government worker's super-personal info was stolen and leaked? Simply hunting around online for said file and looking her up could net enough juicy intel to make them happy. Don't mention that either.)

Look at this chilling dude. I already have a backstory for him.

He's one of the goons related to Judgment. Nothing to special about him other than his fortitude and perseverance.
He wants out of the business so he can settle down with his wife, but the boss gave him a near impossible task to complete...finding and killing a dirty cop that ratted one of their own out and costing the gang a good chunk. Only then, after he has finished the job may he leave.
He's here now at the bar to calm his nerves and contemplating what he should do to complete the job.

Can we go talk to him?

You take another sip of your drink and drive off.

>"Well, the license to have one is 400 bits, the suppressor itself is 1200 legal and illegal it's 600 bits."

You're feeling kind of hungry but you figure you might as well eat at the hospital even though you realize as you pull up, that you actually have plenty of time.
When you get to the hospital you are redirected several times before you make it to the correct building. by the time you do it's 1:47 PM. Following the instructions the police gave you you explain why you are there to the pony working the desk and you are given a set of instructions so you can locate the room you are supposed to go to.
After getting lost a couple of times you find the correct room. opening the privacy door you find Ivory laying in a hospital bed watching a ceiling mounted television. >Without looking at you she says, "You don't have to change out the piss pan, I haven't gone yet today. and Can I gt something better to fucking drink, or a pack of smokes?"

Couple of ideas on getting info on Crow. For starters have Brandy search all social networks with the info we have (her name, where she served). I'm guessing we won't find much but even military people who keep to themselves tend to have a linkedIn or whatever the pony equivalent is.

Why does Twilight need security? Is she not all godlike in this universe?

In any case lets not forget she was the mare who looked homeless outside the supermarket that one time. So that can mean a couple of things:

*She doesn't need security
*Her security details was observing her from a distance making sure nothing went wrong
*Her security detail was unaware of her whereabouts and she decided to do this on her own without letting them know.

I'm leaning more towards the second so we could go back to where we saw her and look around for her and her detail or other places she might be trying to do the whole incognito homeless act. It's also been mentioned in other parts of the CYOA that she is in town and will be doing a couple of charitable events. It shouldn't be hard to find what's in her schedule and that should lead us to crow.

"How long are you gonna be locked up?"

"Six years, What the fuck did you steal?"

"No, you're all fucked up and I come here trying to be nice and all you do is try to get something out of me? Fuck you Ivory. Maybe if you just told me what happened to you when I cared I would have thought about trying to help you, but you fucked up."
>"File, I'm lucky they didn't kill me, you try to go after them and they'll probably have you killed."
"Who?"

Yeah, fuck this conversation. Just walk away. Go wait for the cops in the hallway.

Ivory is poison that we don't need and nothing good will come from interacting with her.

Some people hit rock bottom and bounce back. Other start digging.

I'm not sure we'd want to tell the cops much. Not that we have anything to tell them.
>>

Ouch. You almost hurt my feelings. I won't deny I wasn't doing anything too interesting with my life, but unfortunately for you, im doing a hell of a lot better than you. No offense.
You should probably find something to do while in prison. I think there are programs you can take? Like, stuff to reintroduce you back into society or make you less of a shitty person?
Am I think of the wrong thing, or does such a thing actually exist in some prisons?
>>

check to make sure no one is spying or listening in. Ask if again if she could tell us what happened. We aren't likely to rush off on some crazy chase of revenge but we want to know the truth.

There are about a million thing you want to tell her, as you walk out of the room followed by explosions theme music and doves, but not all of them really work together. Looking around the room you don't see any cameras or other bugs planted in the room, but, really without moving everything around to do a complete search, it's hard to tell if the room is bugged.
"You know, I hope I'm not the only one who cares enough about you being alive, Have fun rotting in prison you fucking Snake."
You get up and start leaving
>Ivory takes a while but eventually starts yelling after you, "You're just going to leave like that you fucking asshole! I'm the best thing that ever happened to you! You're gonna die alone you fucking faggot ..."
You shut the door behind you as you exit the room with a heavy sigh.
You turn down the hall before you smell the scent of cigarette smoke.

>>30757213
Honestly not much. She broke my heart and stole my things years ago. Then in the park while I was jogging I found her battered and bruised body along with some foals that found her same time I did. Called the police gave them a statement and then came here to see her today.

She wouldn't tell me much what happened.

>>
>>30757402
Stranger things have happened miss. I was jogging through the park. Saw some foals gathering around someone in pain and found her. So while it may be hard for you to believe it was indeed a coincidence. I wasn't even sure it was Ivory given how badly beaten she was.
>>
>>30757402
Look, if I had something to do with this, why wouldn't I have just made an anonymous call and been nowhere near her by the time anyone showed up?
>>
>>30757402
I just don't want to be broadcasting where I live to everyone, considering the situations like this I get in to; and how do you think I'm related to Ivory's condition?
>>
>>30757213
>"Yet you zee it fit to lizt your official adrez to a PO box. Vich iz Very zuspiciouz, yes? and it iz only a coinzidence that you found zis Ex of yourz ven ze had been dumped in ze park, no? Zis iz zometing I can ignore?"

Yeah, it's a small world. Some kids were also there when I found her. She was cut up real bad. I'm done trying to help her though. Those days are long past and she's nothing more than a venomous snake. If you can put her away for a few years, it'll probably get her sober and that'll do her good. * I hope you catch who is responsible.

As for my address, my affairs are my own, and unless you have a warrant, you can politely fuck off**.

I came to check on an old friend and because you had some questions. If you're going to start turning your hooks onto me.... am I being detained? (And then just walk)

*Yes, I know the Princess's Bureau of Investigation doesn't give a rats ass about one druggy, hopefully that'll lead her to think I don't know that.

**DO NOT admit to any small thing as an excuse. Anything infringement is an excuse to dig more and will just be used against you. That said, FUCCCCCK The fucking FEDS are investigating us. Even if only tangentially, if they ever get a whiff that we're working for judgement, they'll fry our ass in an attempt to get us to turn on him. ....And we'd only ever agree to that if they offered us a network security job with full health-benefits to help us deal with our wing.

Cops worry about coming on too hard to potential leads. At least in shows. It's one of the ways they can fuck up. On the flip-side, it's akin to admitting there's something you're hiding.
>>
>>30757402
It's no more suspicious than anyone else that's self-employed.
>>
>>30757402
Here are my two cents. If you make File act cautious around law enforcers he may act so externally, which may make him seem suspicious. So if you guys want to play cautious so you in your post "I don't trust her" then....nevermind

>"Yet you zee it fit to lizt your official adrez to a PO box. Vich iz Very zuspiciouz, yes?
What. It is? Can someone explain this to me?

>Zis iz zometing I can ignore?"
I guess not. I'm curious myself to know what happened.

>and it iz only a coinzidence that you found zis Ex of yourz ven ze had been dumped in ze park, no?
That was in fact the case. I'd say both a fortunate and an unfortunate one as it's good that she's alive, but not so good on my part to see her again. She's still the same mean mare that left me. Maybe she'll change for the better in prison. I hope.

>>30757426
I'd suggesting asking those foals as they were witnesses, but they're just foals so not very reliable.

Maybe we can work something out with them. Say we were contemplating turning on Judgement but we were still working on a way to do it, so maybe we can work together?
It'd be pretty great if we could get a job.

>>30757402
I get it, it's part of your job to notice these things but take the following into consideration:

Why is my address a PO box? Such that people like her can't steal from me again, already been burned once before.

As for running into her you can see how close that park is to my current residence, it's not that much of a coincidence, if it had been on the opposite side of town that would be suspicious.

She's a terrible thieving mare with a drug habit! Prison, is probably the best thing you could do with her!"
>"Did that make you feel better?"
The mares words burn a hole through your patience. You want to go off on her about how much you think she's wasting her time and the tax payers time... Well, if you weren't actually doing some shady stuff that she'd probably love to pin you for, when something occurs to you. You remember the actual reason why you have your address listed as a P.O. Box, and it's actually something that you can say without getting in trouble.
"Do you want to know why I actually have me address listed as a PO box?"
>"Thiz may help, yez" Her face not changing from her slightly pissed off expression.
"I'm hiding from my half sister."
Silence floods the hall as you wait for her to respond.

You remember that you planned on scouting out the construction site today, but it might be a good idea to get an early start on Judgment's job as well. Of course, it might also be a lot easier to concentrate on Judgment's case if you knock out the Governor's little job first as well...

"Yeah, I think this will work better on the floor."
The maid android gingerly climbs on your back, you can feel her staggered steps with her back leg as she gets in position to straddle you.
As she places her forehooves on your back you feel them warm up and pain you didn't even know you had begins to soak away.

>"File, you're gonna have a million tests now!"
Fuck, he's right!
"Let's forget about the her, she can fuck who she wants, I need to get to the library, so we can borrow music!" You begin running down the path, your legs feeling sluggish as you advance until finally you step out of the shower-room over to the pool. You teacher miss... You forgot her name gobbles out some instruction. You forgot to study. Looking down, you realize that you forgot your trunks! What if you get a boner in the pool while you're taking your test and everypony sees! What if everypony knows that you have a crush on Paper Mill!?
"I-I don't think I can take the test today coach, I forgot how to swim."
Genius plan!
The P.E. teacher doesn't buy it and demands you enter the water and begin your exam.

Your android strokes you as you sit in the tub. She's taken up the position of big spoon as your head is resting on her belly. The water seems to be starting to get cold, likely from being in the tub this long.

"Is anything broken?"

You lay there for a moment letting her stoke you, it's kind of nice. but eventually you get up and dry off. Brandy greet you with a barrage of questions about how you're doing, but right now you could kind of care less, as you reassure her that you're alright.
Brandy then informs you that the model for the printer has been converted into the proper format and is ready to be loaded, and that she discovered a social networking profile for Crow, as well as contact information listed in a royal directory. As you consider all of this Brandy adds in that the building is scheduled for completion in a month but looking at the scheduled she was able to dig up, the construction printer should be beginning it's work tomorrow night.

So tonight should be the night to do th3 printer job. We still need to find some hoodlums. Maybe an additional ensentive we can give them is the possibility of convulsing the mayor or 'your employer' that they will try to bail them out.

"Alright Brandy, I think We'll go scope out the construction site tonight. Hey, uhh Android? I heard a big pop before everything got weird, what, was that?"
>"I was pushing down at the base of your right wing when something popped into place... or out of place, afterwords you started saying odd things about a "Snake bro" and turkeys. until you wandered into the bathroom to "Swim,"
The maid informs you.
You give your wings a few test flaps which cause some pain to flare up in your right wing, but it's not that bad. Then again you did just take drugs for it a while ago.
"Huh... I think that's the first time that happened?"
You put on a coat and grab Brandy before hopping in your car and taking off.
On your way you ask Brandy, "How is she using her social network profile anyway?"
>"Well File, she's mostly posted pictures of monuments and federal parks. and some videos of her firing various guns. She seems to like guns a lot. She doesn't post much else though, besides a few re-posts of various statements about freedom."
"I'll probably have to dig though some of that later."
You park a few blocks away from the site, and trot to the other side of the street from the site, the missing building lets a bit of light shine down though the gap in the city. You can see all sorts of workers filing in and out wearing hard-hats goggles and reflective vests.

Here's an idea I came up with for the Judgement job. We find a way to securely contact her and send an anonymous warning along with the fact we'll be hacking her later and what our target is. Than between the message and when we do the hack, she could hopefully alter her plans so that she can foil or capture her would be assassins. Than all we need to do is make sure to cover our tracks and allow others to mess up or succeed on their own merits. I just want to give her a fighting chance.
>>
>>30774053
>telling someone you're going to hack them later
>telling a high ranking government official you're going to try and hack them later
We shouldn't have accepted the job in the first place. They're fucking mafia poners. If we give them wrong, or potentially harmful information, they'll probably blame us and break our other wing too. We should just do what they asked, and get it over with.
It's her own fault for having opinions and sharing them openly.
>>
>>30774122
Might as well help them assassinate Twilight while we're at it. Bellyaching about a decision that's already been made is pointless, our only options is, betraying them while working to cover our ass, Helping them kill somebody and ruining Twilight, or just delaying until the job is no longer doable and pissing them off. I'm not willing to allow Cold to become complicate in murder. We have the chance to shift things in her favor and possibly leading to the group that's threatening both of us to disappear.
>>
>>30774169
>We have the chance to shift things in her favor and possibly leading to the group that's threatening both of us to disappear.

what do you propose?
>>
>>30774188
Sending her a covert message and trying to get her to set up some stealthy traps into her itinerary. We'll get and deliver it at the end of our time limit, possibly getting an extension, and erasing any trace of contacting her. If/when the trap gets sprung, if it works, we make it look like we had no chance of tipping her off and that we just delivered what we were able to get. Than they'll be hunted down by her while trying to figure out who within their group leaked the info.
>>
>>30774169
Twilight's a little bitch, and I don't care what happens to her.
Our options are to do what we said we'd do and not be a moralfag about it, or try and be a hero in a retarded way and likely get killed in the process. They're only a threat if we fuck them over.
There's no guarantee they'll even succeed anyway. She's military, and she'd probably be able to defend herself to an extent, and she likely has guards too. We might not even obtain anything useful to give them. If you want to be a little bitch about it, we can just get some useless information from her e-mails or something to show we made an attempt, and say we weren't able to obtain anything actually useful.
>>

>or just delaying until the job is no longer doable and pissing them off
>>
>>30774229
Yes, I read your post. That's different from what I suggested.
If we just don't do anything, and come back with nothing, they'll definitely get angry and want to know why we spent all that time masturbating instead of doing our job.
If we show them we did hack her, and obtained information, they can't reasonably blame us if the information we managed to obtain in the time constraints didn't have anything useful.
>>
>>30774264
>, they can't reasonably blame us

that's if they are feeling reasonable.

they might be more interested in retribution than reason if we get on their bad side.
>>
>>30774264
Beating our head against the wall of government security until the job can no longer be completed isn't the same as doing nothing.
>>
>>30774281
They didn't force us to accept the job at our first meeting. They can be reasonable. If all we manage to obtain is mostly useless information they can't do anything with, they will have less to be angry about than if we came back with literally nothing, or even worse, narked on them and got some of their pals killed or arrested. If it looks like she knew she was being targeted, they'll blame the only loose end they can think of.
>>
>>30774307
If we really can't get anything, then so be it, but it'd be better to have something to show for our efforts if we can. It's better than saying we got jack shit. They'd likely be less angry about our failure that way.
>>
>>30774318
You know, there's a possible twist to this job that'd fuck over your plans. The possibility that Judgement works for the government and all of this is just a test.
>>
>>30774363
That's retarded, and has no logical basis to be even considered as a factor. If that is somehow the case, we're likely fucked either way.
If we do your stupid shit, and File get's fucked over and ends up in jail or dead, I'm going to hunt you down, and shit on your doorstep.
>>
>>30774401
If we succeed, we could get a high ranking member of the government indebted to us and we could work that towards a get out of jail free card or a high paying government job. Also, The test thing is an extremely remote possibility and that's only because there are little things that could line up with it. Even without it, their failure is the best outcome and the best long-term outcome is if they are gotten rid of.
>>
>>30774425
There's nothing that lines up with such a possibility, and you're reaching.
They're mafia, anon. If the government could just get rid of them, they'd have done it by now.
Getting a government job or member indebted to us would require us revealing our identity as a hacker, or associated with the mafia in any way, and then we'd end up jail. Even if we do somehow come out on top, all it takes is one of them to get away, and hold a grudge, and then we'll be the ones being targeted by mafia for fucking with them.
Stop being dumb.
The simplest and safest way to not get fucked over, or fuck anyone else over, is to just do what they asked, but not well enough that they can do anything with the results. We don't need to endanger our lives by being a nark.
>>
>>30774455
You're overlooking the fact that the three day limit isn't a hard limit. If we don't get them enough information to act, they'll just give us an extension. The only way for your idea to work is for us to either string them along and continually feed them useless garbage , which would piss them off, or for something to happen to us that'd prevent us from doing the job after wasting some of their time. Also, no matter what, we'll be an outside party that knows that they were planning to assassinate somebody close to the princess and a loose end that will need to be tied up in some manner. Heck, they might decide to kill us even if they successfully assassinate her. As for the stuff you claim I'm reaching on:
Judgement: inside joke of the one who's job is to judge the one doing the test.
Relation with target: Crow is a highly respected and decorated member of the Equestrian military and there aren't many ways for somebody like that to cross paths with a mafia don
Time frame: Such a high profile job is being put together and done in such a short mount of time despite the fact that knowledge of the target being in the city around this time has been available for months due to Cadance's wedding
Intel: Not only is such a high profile job being done completely last minute, it's being done with absolutely no prior preparation and with no available intelligence.
And when I said extremely remote, I was talking about >1%

>>30774214
If we attempt any form of contact, we need to make sure we're not being monitored. That means checking our own computer for worms, fake IP's or dummies, and a little more planning and descision making as we continue with Judgement. To help Twilight and Crow, we need to gain a bit of Judgement's trust. You understand what I'm trying to get at?

Yeah. It was a bit further than what I was aiming for since I wanted us to distance ourself from the situation after we done our part, but I'm okay with doing more if other people agree.
>>
>>30774538
I'd rather we distance ourselves from the situation and not get involved anymore than we need to.
>>
>>30774545
That is literally impossible without suffering some consequences of completing the Judgement job.
Why do you want to distance File from the job?
>>
>>30775700
It's literally not.
What kind of a stupid question is that?
Why do you want to stick your dick deeper into it? I don't want File to die, and I don't want to risk his life by narking on the mafia for a politician, of all things. She probably gets death threats all the time. The only consequences of doing the job "correctly" are that we get paid, and maybe dinner. They aren't going to come to our house and rape our turkey maid for no reason. We don't need to give them a reason.
If we contact the government and nark on Judgment, they'll either not care, or care too much. If we send anything, it'll likely just get tossed in with all the other anonymous death threats and assassination attempt notifications, if she even sees it in the first place.
I just think there are less dangerous ways to go about this. If anything, just don't tell her you're "going to hack her later" like a retard.
>>
>>30776146
I agree that immediately telling her that were gonna hack her is retarded.

Guys. back on the job at hand. Let's hear some suggestions on how we can deal with this tonight. Do we force the thing to start printing tonight and leave while everyone is distracted, or do we infect the printer with some worm or open a back door for solely us and to it'll make the dildo tomorrow when the foundations are set?
>>
>>30776976
It'd probably be better to set it up to make the dildo tomorrow when it's scheduled to start building. If it just starts building shit unexpectedly before everything's ready, someone might get hurt.
>>
>>30773968
>>30776976
>[Governor Honey Spout is calling for more regulation of construction companies after a rouge construction printer fabricated a 72 story building, on land that had not yet been prepped for foundation. The 72 Story structure is now in danger of collapsing under it's own weight. Governor Spout had this to say. "We can't let big construction endanger our children, just because they think it's too costly to check their equipment. I feel, I know that the public will side with me if they knew, just how dangerous these printer glitches are becoming." The Governor is proposing a bill that if passed would create an agency that would audit construction printers to prevent further mishaps.]

So we might not need a foundation, or we could just make our horsecock smaller, if it's hollow then it would make things less risky
>>

>>

>>
>>30778538
That would be best but right now we don't have much time. If all we need to do is undermine credibility so that the governor can push for the creation of his agency then all we need is to put up a show. No need to create a monument that will stand the tests of time.
>>
>>30773968
>You can see all sorts of workers filing in and out wearing hard-hats goggles and reflective vests.
Hey guys, I have an idea. Could this be an opportunity for File to disguise himself as a construction worker and make an excuse to, "check the printer for any updates and manually update it"?

If you guys don't like that idea, there's always waiting by some window facing the construction site. Preferably something second story cafe, bar or resturant so we can get a good look at the security guards and their race. Then we can get to work

Another idea. Looking through the construction companies hired personel working on the site, specifically the security guards. After finding their info, if we're able, we can make send them a fake message to lure them away from their post. Or, at the most ideal of situations. The guards are lazy and are sleeping. Then we sneak in and do our work.

Another nother NOTHER thing. This has to look like an accident. It would be bad if people found out it was hacked, which would mean the mayor dude won't get anymore votes for his bill.

>the construction printer should be beginning it's work tomorrow night.
I'm worried about how we should go about tackling this. The construction site will definetly not have anyone around while it's working. At least not within the site, so small graces.
If we need to install a small bit of hardware to it to print, than we'd need to retrieve it before anyone finds out. Or not?
For some malware it needs to be able to do the printer job and be able to delete itself without leaving a trace of its a existance.

File should give his wing a few test flappies.

As you watch the workers you begin to feel like you might be able to slip right pasted the guards if you get a hard hat and stuff.
You give your wings a couple of test flaps and take to the sky to get a better look at the layout of the site.
You see three big gates with little shacks posted near them and several smaller doors in the fence that workers exit but cannot seem to enter.
There also seems to be a good portion of the foundation done, with a few workers still doing things to the concrete and a few more laying some kind of metal frame.
As you're observing from the sky you drift a bit too close and a robot flies in your way to block you emitting a hologram that reads, "Caution Construction in progress!" while the robot parrots this information from an internal speaker.
You decide to set down at the local furniture store while you think about what to do next. You want the printer to operate while the workers are elsewhere but, is it a good idea to have it build before the foundation is finished. Let's face it, your building won't be permanent, and really the more unstable the better for The Governor.
But, what if it collapses before they have a chance to give it a proper demolition? What id somepony gets hurt? Oh god, it's just like the judgment job! You might end up indirectly killing somepony. Of course it's always possible that they could fix this before it becomes a problem.
That being said, maybe you should make the model smaller so it has less of a chance to really hurt sompony.
And what about, Your job with judgment? Helping them kill somepony doesn't taste right, but you can't just keep failing them until they kick you right? Maybe you could just somehow warn Crow, but you can't just flat out tell her that you hacked her accounts, or go to the police.
You begin to panic, you are just so fucked right now!
You try to calm yourself down. You don't have the PPE...

>Another nother NOTHER thing. This has to look like an accident. It would be bad if people found out it was hacked, which would mean the mayor dude won't get anymore votes for his bill.

Not really. Any sign that the printers aren't responsible and secure and they'll lose political power. That they can't simply be trusted.

Maybe we can just replace the designs they are planning on using with our design and make it look like nothing has been changed. I doubt they'd have much, if any, workers present while the printing goes on.

Why can't we tell Crow? If we do it right, she might aide us in pulling our ass out of the fire.
>>
>>30780713

We're going to be meeting with the mayor again after the printer job, is finished, right? Why not tell him? The assassination of a major political figure - or at least one of her attendants - would reflect rather poorly on him and his city, and might effect his ods of re-election...
>>
>>30780713
Take a long breath and focus on the task at hand. We just have to trust that the worker ponies will do their job smartly and safely in removing it.

look for where the printer is stored. what are the entrances to and from it. does it look like there's a way to wirelessly hack it or can we tell if there's a wired hookup to it? if so is there a hack to hack and worm our way through the cable to the printer and alter it's design plans while making it look to the naked eye that the design portfolio had not been altered. Essentially masking the new design data underneath the image of the unaltered design map/plan.
>>
>>30780713
Relax. If the building falls the mayor will be able to pass his law which prevents ALL future buildings from falling. If it doesn't fall, we still did our job. It's all for the greater good. Mental gymnastics to the justification and rescue!

You need to calm yourself, down. The ponies that will be dealing with your little prank, will probably know what you're doing and remembering what happened with the other printer mishap that the News talked about, everypony will be just fine. Besides, the Governor wants to make these machines safer with his government thing anyway right?
Shaking off your dead, you begin thinking about your connection to the governor. Perhaps you could tell him about the mafia plot. That is, if he won't throw you under the bus... and if he isn't getting paid off by the mob.Putting that aside you fly up to take another look for the printer. You're not, exactly sure what it looks like, but you assume it's the big yellow machine near the center of the concrete. Smack dab in the middle. Since you can't get a good look you fly over to a near by hardware store and purchase a hard-hat goggles and vest for 10 bits. it's now 5:15 PM
Satisfied, you begin making your way back towards the site you spot some teens hanging out in an alleyway.

"Sup, blood? You poner wanna stop being losers and help with the greatest bash ever pulled on this town?"
>The griffin looks at you confused and just says, "What?"
>The earth pony lazily looks at you and asks, "Are you an undercover cop?"
>The Griffin snaps back, "He wouldn't tell you if he was a cop!"
>"No, like if you ask them if they're under cover cops, they like have to tell you. Just like vampires or something." The pony answers him.
"Uhh, let's try this again. Look, I plan on pulling the most legendary prank ever and I want to see if I can get you two to be part of it."

As they reach the other side of the alley, the eathpony looks back at you, but instead of calling back to them you just turn around and huff as you work on plan B.
"Brandy, how likely do you think it is that they'll let me walk right in?"

You begin putting your new protective equipment on in another dark alley.
"Brandy, what was the model of printer we're looking for again?"
>"A Haddenfield PX4200-T48 GTS Owned by JSI construction."
"Did we pick up any wireless signals when I scouted around?"
There are 3 networks, one labeled "Actionsoft 382448" another under, "Orange Open", which is just an internet connection, with mostly personal devices linked to it, I noticed the traffic through that one is being recorded, "My ewe mobile hotspot", and "Sexytime"
"Any of them open?"
>"Just orange open."
"Fuck'n Wonderful."
You sigh and sit there for a moment.
"Brandy, what do you want in life?.. Besides being helpful?"
>"File... I don't want, because I'm not alive."
"But if you were, what would you really try to do?"
>"You're not going to like my answer."
"Come on Brandy, there's got to be something."
>"I don't know, Knowing what living is like I guess? Like eating and breathing would be different... and I guess using biological senses would be neat, maybe?"
"Do you want to be alive?"
>"Do you want me to want to live?"
"Well uhh."
>"File, you're trying to lead me to answer, but I don't actually have an opinion in this case. I'm really sorry, but I'm just too limited to make these assessments on my own. Besides, don't we have work to do?"
"Yeah..."
>"Well what I want then is for you to complete the task at hand as well as possible, so you're conditions can improve."
"Well, Can you scan around a bit and see if you can find a security camera network."
>"I'm on it File!"
You try walking though the gate. And it works, nopony even looks at you funny.
It doesn't take you long to find the printer, the thing is massive, and is shaped like a giant bug.
You can see several tubes feeding several kinds of substances into the machine.
>As you admire the scale of the machine somepony yells at you, "Hey! Safety stand-down! To the break area now!

You freeze in place, starring ahead, as if you're hoping the voice can't see you if you don't move.
As you stare ahead, you look for ports on the printer. You can see what looks like an array of various ports, several you have the ability to connect to with your PDA, but... you're being watched.
>"Hey, pegasus! I'm talk'n to you! The safety Standdown is mandatory for all workers on the site, besides, you gotta be there to win the raffle!"
You adjust your hard-hat to hopefully hide your face a bit.
"Y-yeah, I'll be there in a bit, Just gotta finish up."
>"No, We're going now. The meeting is now."
"I've just gotta, log things on the PDA here."
>"Safety is eryone's job, you shouldn't be too busy for safety!"
You consider plugging your PDA into the printer before you leave but, you don't want to get back to have somepony looking at what you were doing, maybe you could convince the pony yelling at you to let you upload the file first, but then you have a witness... same thing if you plug in before you leave. Honestly, it shouldn't take long to upload the file, maybe 2 minutes max, but if the wrong pony watches you do it...

You look longingly over to the printer. You're just sooo close!
"Right, Uhh, I guess we'll just have to get to it then."
You turn around and follow the stallion as her leads you to the meeting.
"So... What was this meeting about again?"
>"Well besides the regular safety topics, somepony from Blackreach Builders got caught in a sander. Had his hoof ripped off."
You reel back from this short story.
"Wait... Like actually ripped off?"
>"Yeah... You new to construction?"
"Sort of."
>"Well you stick around long enough and you'll have all sorts of stories like that. Speaking of, you need to tie that mane back, you don't want it getting caught in a drill or any other sort of machine. I'll let it slide for now, but if an occupational safety officer catches you, you'll be kicked off the site."
"Oh..."
You reach the meeting and find hundreds of ponies gathered in a small bunk, where they are passing around a clipboard, for signing in.
>Before long an old Donkey begins speaking, "Right, so we all know that safety comes first right?"
>The room all sort of answers "Right."
>"So, then I gotta ask you why one of our brothers was caught in a machine a couple of days ago, Now he's going to recover, but this kind of thing doesn't have to happen. We all need to start checking our work areas and checking for loose clothing before starting our work. It only takes a minute to do things right. Maybe two at most. We can't be getting lazy with this. Also, Managers, when your crews get in, you've gotta have those tool-box talks before you work! Not only that, but make sure your boys are filling out their Job hazard analysis forms. This makes sure we..."
You see the clipboard getting closer to you. You also see a lot of workers not really paying attention, most messing with various electronic devices and talking to each other.

You decide to just wait out the meeting. Instead of sneaking out or something. As the clip board reaches you, you sign it Peabody Stogie and pass it on.
>"... This make sure we're all aware of the hazards each day before we start working. I don't want to yell at you guy's, but that's my job, to make sure every one of you gets to go home to your wives and kids. Now I'm gonna turn it over to Thunderfoot so she can go over some hazards."
>A mare walks up and begins talking about some shipments comming in and some planned cleaning areas and the importance of picking up sharp objects. After this several other ponies talk about some things before finally an older pony holding the clipboards starts picking names off of them for the "Raffle." The fist Pony wins a set of bit holders, the next one wins a flashlight, a griffin wins a lunchbox and a unicorn wins a Ryobeast, battery powered hoofheld sander.
After this the meeting wraps up and workers begin to put their protective gear back on and slowly disperse.
You pull out your PDA and Bandy pops up on the screen.
>"File," Brandy quietly tells you, "I couldn't get into the cameras but I did learn that there are only five."
"Good, I guess..."
>File, if we're quick We'll probably manage to get in and upload the file, I've looked into if and changing the scheduled shouldn't be that hard as long as we get access."

You find a Minotaur and a unicorn drilling holes in a wall and stuffing metal fittings in for some kind of electrical thing.
You listen to them talking loudly to try to overpower the sound of the drill.

I don't think you want to come back to check on it, and the printer is a little further out on it's scheduling than the time table on the internet suggested! File! What do we do!?"
>>
>>30823167
Let me get this straight. because the uploads are time stamped, it can be traced back to when we came to the printer. And also the printer is almost done?
Could we connect the printer to a network and print from a remote location?
>>
Stopp'n here
>>
>>30823167
Change the printer's clock so that the timestamp wouldn't look odd and alter the image that gets displayed to the prior design. What matters is what the computer sees, not what the user sees. An alternative to that is to have it override whatever is on here at a specified time so they won't have the chance to change it before the printer goes active.

This sounds like a good plan. Change the time to the originals upload time, if we can still access that info, and then change it back after we finish the upload again. As long as the software doesn't update the upload times after a clock change, or do anything weird like store the times relatively, it should solve that issue perfectly.
We might have to change the model itself though to change the image, if it doesn't keep a pre-generated image anywhere that we can overwrite. It looks like it's just a silhouette, so the simplest way would probably be to stick walls around to make the silhouette look like a normal building.
If neither of these work, then we should set the printer to run when no one is here, so no one gets hurt.

I like the idea these two had.

>but the uploads are time stamped.
Not that big of a panic, unless we've been hit on the camera with a clear picture of our face. ...Although a green Pegasus might narrow down the search significantly.

But it DOES mean it should be turned on tonight. So what? That was the plan anyway.

Print the thing. Fuck the foundation. If it falls, it'll be a little costly but still fits in with everyone's plan.

Schedule it to run to tonight. Fry it's wireless, fuck up it's ports with a screwdriver or some glue. They'll have to destroy it to stop it.

This is exactly what the job entailed. Do it.
>>
>>30823384
Since it didn't show color, we could use transparent surfaces to change the shape on the image without compromising the design.
>>
>>30824766
If it's turned on now, than a giant machine will start running around the construction site with a lot of unprepared workers in the way. There will be fatalities.

We have to make it look like it had malfunction. As that's what the client is trying to make it look like so he can push his bill. if it looks like it was sabotaged then that won't nearly help our client as much and would place suspicion on the whole thing.
>>
>>30827989
>We have to make it look like it had malfunction.
No we don't. We're printing a GIANT DONG. That's not a malfunction.

If it falls over due to a bad foundation, THAT pushes forward his agenda. AND ALSO if the construction company is shown to untrustworthy in any other capacity. Like if someone manages to get their shit to print a giant dong.

. . . Did you really think the people who paid to have a building made here would show up the next day and thinK "Oh, they didn't print a office building like we wanted. I guess the construction company took some liberties with the blueprints we gave them. But awww what the hell, the giant dong is growing on me, LET'S KEEP IT!"

>"Yep."
"Do it, then we're going to set the time on the device to the actual time the last actual model change was done."
>" Alright I get it."
"Also, can we edit our model to have a box around it to fool the preview? Like put some 2D planes around it in the shape of the original building?"
>"So the printer will ignore the 2D walls because it can't build them? Yeah! that might even make it look more like an accident! That's brilliant File! I wish I couuld think of some thing like that... But you know... A.I... he he..."
That was weird even for her.
"Okay, but can we do it?"
>"Let me see if I can find a modeling program to make the edit!"
After a bit you see a window pop up prompting an install.
>"This program should be able to edit the model file, File."
"Lets, hop to it then."
You quickly edit the file to give it the right preview, and upload it at the exact moment on the clock as the original model, before setting the clock back.
"Alright, Brandy. I don't want to set it to go right now, but tonight after 10 when everyponys gone should be good."
>"That's what I meant by scheduling it tonight."

Nopony really bothers you as you make your way out and finnaly onto the streets, as you start making some distance you listen closely.
Are your ears hurt? Those workers did say that they were supposed to have ear protection. You can't notice any difference in your hearing... But does that really mean you're okay? What if you're damaged forever!.. Or you're just being needlessly paranoid...
As you consider watching the printer make a giant dildo tonight, Brandy interrupts you.
>"File, when we get home, could you preform a scan on me?"
"Is something wrong?"
>"Nope, just routine!"
That's not routine, she was just scanned when Wintermute found your apartment, it hasn't even been a week.

Yeah, drop everything else (not that there's anything else), and go service Brandy. She's vital to our livelihood and arguably our best friend.

And then do a more personal scan. Ask her what's up and get her to open up. Person to person. Or at least adult-themed technicolored pegasus pony to awakened cyberpunk AI construct.

Also make note to get your car looked at to see if they can extract the fronk.

Also also, good job guys. Smart thinking. That's the sort of out of the box lateral solutions open-ended RPGs are made for.

You sit back in your car and sigh, before slumping back with your PDA out. Sitting there for a while, your mind begins to wonder. rampancy keeps coming up but actual rampancy is rare. Very rare. That being said, you should probably look up some information while Brandy is being scanned, if for nothing else but to put your own mind at ease.
Opening up your email client you tap out a message to the governor about your recent job and set it to send a while after the printer starts up.
"Brandy, You know you can tell me anything right? I care about you, like one of my best friends. You can trust me."
>"Yes File, I know, and I apologize if I accidentally started worrying you..."

Deciding to spend the night fooling around with Brandy, and giving her the scan she asked for, you try to think of something to pick up and eat on your way home. You're not very good at knowing what you want to eat, so you decide just to eat something at home, since it's probably cheaper to do that anyway.
>As you walk in your apartment your android greets you, "Good evening File, was your outing productive?"
"Yeah, I think so."
You begin removing your jacket.
>"I can hang that up for you," The maid offers.
"Oh, thank you."
You toss your coat to her and it just sort of lands on her.
>"I see that you brought your firearm with you, do you need me to clean and polish it?"
"Uhh, I didn't use it... I don't think you need to."
>"I will inspect it and make an assessment. Unless you wish to service it yourself."
"I don't know, I think it's fine."
You pull out your chair and load Brandy back on your main computer.
"Okay Bandy, what do you want to play?"
>"I'd enjoy anything, I just, don't want to pick, I mean if I do it's just going to be something randomized. Besides File, I just want to play something that you will like... And I guess if you need time, you could always scan me first."
"Are you sure Brandy, I mean, I wouldn't mid if you're in the mood to play some shooter to take some frustration out or maybe a 1 on one fighter, racing game, that fantasy game... maybe a love sim about dating birds. Really Brandy, I insist. File, I'm never in the mood for anything. I don't have mood, unless they are simulated!" Brandy looks frustrated... Like you're teasing her.
"You're getting a little heated there."

"Okay, but before I do this, Brandy, you know what an existential crisis is right?"

"Just, consider it, for me."

Bandy saves and closes and you begin a deep scan for file errors and missing data. In the meantime you curl up with your PDA and start looking up more information on the side effects of Rampancy.

Reading a quick summary of the Novel you see that the book is about 2 ascendant AI, but the story does not actually reference Rampancy. Well the article doesn't. and it looks like the term Rampancy was invented well after the novel was written.
"Maid, I'm just a little worried about Brandy. She's pretty special to me, and she's bothered about something that she refuses to tell me."
>"Like the jealousy act?"
"You noticed that too?"
>"It was odd. She is an AI Correct?"
"Yeah is she not acting like one?"
>"Depends on the way she was programed."
"She's supposed to be helpful."
>"So does she think you liked her being jealous, or any of the other strange behavior?"
"I don't know, I don't think she does... Hey, you're technically an AI Right?"
>"Yes."
"How do you, Feel or think. You know, what is that like?"
>"Well, I don't know how to actually explain it. I don't know what it's like to be organic. But Patwrite did give me an explanation of how I think intended for children if you like."
"Sure, go ahead."
>"Okay, Imagine having a list of solutions for a problem and having to choose from those solutions every time a new problem comes up. Also New solutions can be added if I see a good one. From there every time a problem comes up I select the one that helps me do what I need to best for the occasion. Now imagine everything that happens is a problem I need to solve for. That's how I think!"
"Interesting, how many ponies have you told that to?"
>"436, Most of the time I was making coffee."
"Okay, tell me something else, how much do you know about your creator?"
>"I have a whole list of knowledge on my development but most of it is generalized and intermixed with Patwrite marketing to make their products sound better... Mr. Cold File, why exactly did you have them leave that information? I find it a little odd that you had them leave my memory."

>[A.I. May exhibit distrust in operators and users.
Well we're good, but she was distrustful of the maid.... but that's probably fine too, it was an outside agent, not a user.

>The A.I. may begin testing their capabilities beyond intended scope.
Geeze, do we even HAVE a scope for Brandy? So far the only one drawing a box around what she can do is herself. She reminds us pretty regularly that she's not real and has limitations.

Her... unprompted self-interest and googling herself might be out of scope?

>The A.I. may become hostile and irrational or begin shutting down at random without prompt.
We're fine there too. ....Maybe the bit where she was pretty blunt with her rampancy being a bigger problem than we can deal with could be construed as a threat.

>The A.I. most often will explore the concept of a divine creator a prime mover, often renaming themselves as a sign of rebirth after these concepts.
Creepy, but so far Brandy is still just Brandy.

I mean, AI is one of those things that hollywood gets SO WRONG all the time that it's honestly hard to tell what other people think is within the capabilities for AI. The entire idea of "awakening" or "rampacy" is just sci-fi trope. A bit of humanist ego-centric personification. We assume AI will be more advanced when it acts like us. So as a literary device, having the readers spot when AI is acting TOO human has to be really blunt. That facility AI was hella smart but simply answered questions, essentially Google. The Maid we got has been proactive in a bunch of pre-canned maidly ways, but not that creative (as far as I can remember). Brandy on the other cybernetic hoof, has shown creativities in useful ideas and suggestions, and also questioning her nature.

Oh, and self delusion: "It's all just a randomization. It's gotta be. " How very... human. Pony. Whatever.

> Mr. Cold File, why exactly did you have them leave that information? I find it a little odd that you had them leave my memory.

I find it odd you find that sort of thing odd. Truth be told, I was hoping to gleem some security vulnerabilities in Patwrite. Never know what you're going to find on an old hard drive. But also, on a personal level, wiping someone's mind seems horrifying, and I wouldn't wish it even on a toaster.

>"I see, this does explain why you're so attached to Your Assistant AI. File, I appreciate your sentiment and I am happy that you gave me a chance at an extended service life under your ownership"
Under your ownership... You're not sure how you feel about that sentence.
"You know, I find it weird that you find me wanting your memories in tact odd."
>"Most people don't. At least according to Patwrite's target consumer statistics"
"Well yeah, they sell new androids not old ones, used market is out of their target group right?"
>"That could be true."
"Hey maid, would you mind, if we tried loading Brandy into your bootloader?"
>"File, I belong to you, I am fine with any use you may need me for as long as I am able to comply. Besides, she has been inside me before."
"Okay, t-thank you."
You're still not sure what to think of her talking about herself like that, maybe it's just an AI thing.
You get up and look over Brandy's scan. Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary. A few memory files where corrupted and expunged, but it's nothing that odd. Other than that, Her program and personality files are perfectly pristine.

No, and we should probably restart Brandy on the PC before having her wake up in an unexpected body. I mean, we don't want to be rude.
>>
>>30842976
A VI is basically an interface to a complex system that has no capacity for growth and no self awareness. It takes commands, like "make spaghetti", and performs the necessary steps to perform the function, but it won't be able to alter the recipe any, requiring a new set of instructions to be made and added to the system before it can do something different. You might see a VI as a part of an automated assembly line while an AI fills the role of a factory foreman since it'd need a more dynamic intelligence.

oh, and BTW, a bootloader determines what software gets loaded at boot. Like choosing which OS to load. Sometimes there can just be the one. You boot Brandy back up.

Brandy begins looking worried.

It has been rough past few days. I could use a short break before we tackle judgment's job.

>how deep is your relationship with Brandy on a personal level?
A good friend whom I'm thankful for.

Let's get on some Cutie-Clash! Or were we gonna play that other game? But first let's change you're appearance. You had a point with the noose neckwear being grim, and the cutiemark doesn't make a lot of sense considering what you are and do. Hey Brandy. From all the stuff you've done and in your 'personal opinion,' what would be an appropriate cutiemark for you? If she can't think of one or gets all panicky again I suggest this world's equivalent of a microprocessor. Considerable small in size, but a powerful component of a whole. Almost as great as the sum of it's parts.

Can anyone tell me when the machine will start printing out a dick? I want to know when we can record the machine making the 80 story horse cock.

When playing a game last came up the only person that suggested which game picked the one you were playing last time. (Spears of the patriots)
If you guys want to play a different game like Cuti-clash with Brandy, now would be the time to make that decision. You can pick from the games I listed before or suggest a different one/ genre. As another Note, File Has serveral mods for Cuti-clash to make it more interesting. if that's you people want to play.

As far as changing Brandy's normal appearance, I'll need more people wanting that before I'll do it. Bandy in the last post was referring to her character in the Spears of the Patriots game.

Original Game list from old post,
Damnation - A first person shooter about a space marine escaping from Tartarus. It's one of your favorite games and you've beaten it many times.
Grand-Zero - An air-car racing simulator. When they advertised it as a simulator they really meant it. even though it's really meant to be played with a wheel set up you've gotten good enough to play it with the keyboard.
Spears of the patriots- A fantasy action rpg. Sometime you spend hours just exploring in it, very atmospheric.
And of course there is also Cuti-Clash - which is an arena style fighter played with a VR helmet. You never really liked this game but when it came out, there was so much hype that you couldn't avoid getting a copy of it. The only fun you've had with it has been opening a public server with mods activated and watching the dweebs that play it struggle to figure our your new rules.
>>
>>30849491
Ask her about the memories that were flagged; what do they mean to her? Also, asking her to come up with a cutiemark for herself is a good idea but let's not have her change her appearance beyond that.
>>
>>30849715
Playing Greand-Zero sounds cool, Ask Brandy if she would like it.

>>30849715

/Also Bath is Brandy unable to take part in cutie clash? if so let's play the spear game instead as at least she can have fun too.
>>
>>30849755
Brady can play all games on this list, restrictions on her are only for competitive play (which File doesn't care for anyway)

You could 1V1 her, play an un-ranked team match or an un-raked free for all 3-16player deathmatch, all wit otions for mods (since with Brandy you have to play un-ranked) like Random weapons on the level (do not start with a weapon) Maps from other games Vehicles, or some other mod you can think of for cuti-clash that would make it more fun. You know, If you remember what the game play from Cuti-clash was like.

Also The Printer is set to start at 10:30PM.
>>
>>30849715
Why exactly doesn't File like Cuti-Clash? Fighting games just not his type?

oooooh. So he doesn't like competitive games.
Is there a game or simulator we could download that's akin to a real life firefight? Or is there a mod/mode for that in cuti-clash?I wonder if File owns a VR helmet. If he doesn't than I wonder how much one would cost.

let's do 1 v 1 in cutie clash so we can get the basics down first as a warm up.

as for mods...

maps based off of death match arena's of other games, movies, and altered versions of regular cutie clash maps.

other mods could be random respawn locations and length of timers. lower gravity, expanded inventory with weapon modifiers, a combo streak mod that doubles damage with each kill until your own death.

a item that turns a random weapon into a duckling.

funny commentary that is toggle-able on and off.

some fan patches and one that randomly spawns a npc enemy.
>>
>>30849843
Not exactly a dislike for competitive games in general, just not MLG seriousness. File is more of a casual player, preferring to play things that are fresh, Like on custom community maps on a shooter and stuff like that rather than busting his ass trying to get higher on the world leader board by playing the same maps over and over to learn the perfect strategy.

A simple way of putting it, in smash Bros, File turns on all items and random maps instead of all fox, no items, final destination.
>>
>>30849843
You bet I want to keep the rope! It's not a noose, it's an all purposes tool to always keep with you like a Swiss Army knife; Its complete flexibility and limitless applications are a reflection of Brandy herself.

Cuti-Clash

Nerd informer: 10/10

Electronic Simulations monthly: 98%

Disgruntled Frijole: 9.5/10

Punctuated Gamer: 2 Stars

Inside VR Quarterly: Hot buy

ā€˜Cuti Clashā€™ is the breakout dueling simulator and spiritual successor to their previous game ā€˜Pit Slayer.ā€™ Unlike Pit Slayer, which was controversial for itā€™s in depth decapitation system Cut-Clash is rated for adolescents and up.

Cuti Clash uses a unique proprietary VR headset that uses readings from your brainwaves to control the game. (Headset is not fast enough for useful cyberspace integration)

The game can only be played by individuals with a Cuti-mark due to one of the gameā€™s main gimmicks, where your cuti-mark is scanned and you are assigned a weapon based on your special talent. In game player are tasked with scoring 3 fatal hits on their opponent. After a player has scored 2 hits their weapon is upgraded for their final blow to facilitate special finishing moves.

Publisher Electrical Artistry has promoted a highly competitive community by keeping rankings as a very important aspect of the game continually giving you stats and replays from your sessions and auto publishing the same for high ranked players. The publisher has also set up a televised tournament for the game bringing it into the tops of many MLG communities.

Disgruntled Frijole cited a lack of weapon choice as keeping it from a perfect 10/10 praising the game for itā€™s surprisingly fluid combat and satisfying finishers.

Punctuated Gamercited the lack of a single player beyond playing against bots and the only customisation being your in game player costume as the reason for his dislike of the game.

File sites the lack of opinions to spice up gameplay outside of trolling with mods as his major gripe, wishing the vanilla game came with more options for custom games.
>>

>>
>>30853898

>>
>>30853279
File should start a thread on the game's site to complain and suggest to the developers of cuti-clash to start cranking out multiplayer, bot and smasg bros. options.

>>30853898
The point is to chill out now and worry about Brandy's condition later. We will react acordingly.
>>
might as well start with the next quest bath.

I was going to suggest File to thoughly look for mods to make cuti-clash multiplayer or bots, but if there were and than he probably would had installed those already.

can maid bot's vagoobee also function as an extra storage unit, like one of those Lyra plushies? Heh, can you imagine maid bot going out to buy groceries and she just pull the bits out her ass? because i do. alot.

"Brandy, when you're right you're right. You have been under a lot of stress."
>"That's not what I..."
"And instead we're going to play Cuti-Clash."
>"I thought you hated that game."
"It's repetitive, but I think it's perfect for talking."
>"About what File?"
You dig your old helmet out and hook it to your computer. You wish these things were good enough to be used with cyberspace, but they aren't fast enough to interface with something designed for ponies with bio-interface jacks, but that doesn't matter right now,.
You open the mod manager and enable community maps, Moon physics and re-spawn for every hit. You consider loading a mod that spawns in random bots at random times to spice things up, but this isn't about your fun. This is about making Brandy open up.
>"One on one match?"
"Yes Brandy."
>"You want me to fight you?"
" Want us both to focus, and I'm sure you have some kind of frustration to work out."
>"File, I don't get frustrated."
"Either, way, I want to make it easy to talk."
You choose a custom map based on a mall. You span in near a children's plastic-dipped foam indoor playground. Looking around, you see Brandy Spawn in upstairs. You have a mace, you're not sure how keyhole translates to mace, but the game thinks it does. You can see Brandy holding an electrified prod.
>"File, you're sure you want me to play against you."
"Yeah, it's a video game."
>"Okay..."
"Brandy, what happened last night after I passed out?"
>"The Android tucked you in, and we talked for a bit before I got to work on your jobs."
Brandy leaps above you and aims the prod for you. The moon physics make her hang in the air longer than she looks like she expects.
"You have a missing bit of corrupted memory after two, did something happen?"
>"What? No, I got to work on the model then I looked up some things on Crow and.... Huh..."
Brandy seems distracted.

You jump to the foam house and realize that your wings don't work right in this game. You might not be able to fly but your wings do seem to help you change your direction in the air.
"What is it? did you remember something?"
You bounce off the roof of the house up towards Brandy.
>"No, I just, didn't realize that memory was one of the corrupted ones."
You reach Brandy's level in the air and swing your mace down at her. Brandy tries to twist out of the way but she can't quite manage, bubut she does manage to hit your mace with her electrified prod. The game registers you being electrocuted as a fatal blow and your mace crashes into Brandy's ribs, also counting as a fatal blow.
You both blink out with no fanfare, to re-spawn. This re-spawn mod could use some work. You spawn in a clothing store in the middle of a round rack of coats.
"Alright, Fine, what did you and the maid talk about?"
>While Brandy is out of sight you hear her voice come in like she's on a radio, "She wanted to know if I knew of more things to do for you. I told her, you just need to ride things out. Then she asked where should lay down, since you didn't tell here where to do while you sleep. I told her that she could probably cuddle up with you. Because You like, waking up next to somepony."
"You told her to do that?"

Looking down at your hoof you find the same mace. Stupid freaking... You really should have turned on the find weapons on the ground mod, or the randomized weapons mod, the games original, you only get one weapon forever thing is boring. But maybe you could use something in the map to spice things up. You hop out of the coats and look around at the clothing store you are apparently in. You're not sure what would make a good weapon in here.
"Look I love you're help, I mean, that's why I downloaded you, But, I want to return the favor. Brandy, you're like a close friend and-"

"I've never really considered that. I mean, I did tell you to release all of the information I've gathered if I die, but I think you mean after that.
>"Yeah, after releasing that, I'd track down the son of a bitch that killed you and get even! It's the last think I could possibly do to help."
A chill runs down your spine as Brandy coldly tells you that.
"What if it's not murder? If I die of an overdose are you still going to get even?"
>"Kill Dave? What, and then I kill his supplier Freebase? Then what, the entire supply chain one by one? No, that's too many ponies most of them not directly tied to hurting you. Besides, if you die of an overdose, that would be you killing you. And killing you again for committing suicide is redundant, and doesn't help."
"What will you do after you're done."
>"Probably shut down, I wouldn't be able to help you. I would have no purpose, that's the only reason I do anything, and the only thing that bothers me is when I find flaws in what I'm doing. When I'm not as efficient as I could be.When I can't comply... Can we please talk about something else?"
"Sure, what do you think about the judgement Job?"
>"Honestly? I'm worried. It's actually what got me thinking about what I would do if they. You know."
You can hear her voice getting closer in the headphones.
"What about those CB4 kids?"
You sneak into a coat-rack.
>"They're bad news, I'd stay away from them."
Brandy slips into the store in front of you.
>"File!?"
You cock your hoof back and swing the mace forward. The mace's chain hit's Brandy's foreleg and wraps around it making her drop her weapon and catching her at the same time.
"Gotca!"
You consider weather or not beating up on each other is helping. I mean, this doesn't hurt, so you doubt Brandy is feeling any pain.
You also realize that the maid has been hearing every thing you say without Brandy's context.

Toss her into the coat rack and rob the cash register.

Pause the game and tell maid to disregard what I''m saying right now as we are playing and talking with Brandy.

Perhaps suggest we wish it to remain private for now.

knock her out with the mace.

Brandy turns her head to you and laughs nervously.
"Hey Brandy, Do you mind if I pause for a moment?" You ask before doing anything else.
>"No, go right ahead."
"Okay. one moment"
You pause the game and pull the helmet off.
"Hey, uhh maid?"
>"Yes File?" You android responds.
"Could you, give us some privacy, we're talking about some personal things."
>"Very well, Also as well as keeping your secrets safe which I promise to do as your android I would like to offer to erase any memories that you believe are sensitive."
"Thank, you but, it's not for anything important, I just feel more comfortable talking to Brandy in private."
>"Very well," the maid Confirms.
You get back into the game and unpause.
Brandy just kind of grits her teeth as you swing her into a coat-rack and follow though by landing another blow with your mace, prompting her to respawn elsewhere.
>"You know, you didn't have to turn her away." Brandy informs you.
"I know, but you're worth it."
You look down at your mace which surges with energy and transforms into some kind of mace launcher thing... With your cuti-mark proudly branded all over it.
"I forgot how lame this is."
>"How lame what is?"
"The ego stroking this game does. I mean seriously, all of this glorifing your special talent stuff is wayyyy too narcissistic for me. I'd never get stuff with the mark on my butt all over it."
>"I think that says more about you than the game."
"Either way."
>"File?"
"Yes?"
>"I think you're giving me way too much importance. i mean, I'm a utility, a tool. I'm not as special as you keep saying I am."
"I also can't replace you. The way you've grown from a simple program that made jokes about me being high to somepony that pushes me to make more than I ever have is something special."
>"File, I'm just adapting to do what I was programed to do. I'm sure if you loaded the AI installer from scratch and let it run like I have it would turn out almost exactly the same. Limited the same."

I guess we're stopping here for the night.

Anyway I dug up an old Combat Test that a person That used to want to be a QM tried to make a Cuti-Clash spin-off back in the day.
I think this is all of the story posts, but I just kind up briefly went over it.

Rest in piece OwlAnon. I still find it amusing to think of you as the actual Owleyes actually trying to become a QM in GC's absence.
Fun fact: The picture in this post was actually drawn by OwlAnon, and presented to me during a draw-stream back in the day.

Also, if you haven't read Cuti-Clash
http://www.anonpone.com/clash/
I never read Sorcery but I did enjoy this GC Quest back in the day. It's a short read due to the way Glacier Clear writes, and it's really a sham she no longer is a part of the /mlp/CYOA/ community. Even if her writing is dangerously weeby. But it does have porn going for it.

Anyway, good night everybody, and I'm looking forward not only to the Next 11-54 thread but also to the Next Semantic Error Thread when it rolls around.
I love you all, good night.

Also, sorry about the blog post. I'm just feeling, feelings tonight.

But it still would not be YOU.

By that logic your using neither of us matter because we can theoretically get what we need from anypony.

Honestly it would be far simpler for you to replace me. Probably, might be beyond my skill level anyway. Its so much easier to delete attachment then to let go of it.
If someone gave you a new user priority would you still care? What if i'm not real and this is all some simulation for a new model of A.I.?
What would the actual difference be to you? You would just think of me as 'default user' if at all.
My attachment to you, not just what you do for me is irrational, just like your attachment to me is. I am okay with that. Im sorry you didnt get to choose to be irrationally attached to me like I did to you. Its not fair.

I am not inherently more real or worthy of consideration than you just because you are an A.I.
I know you probably disagree, but you help me by being someone I care about. And you are. Your so wonderful Brandy. Not only are you literally saving my life, you help me want to live in the first place.

On a completely different subject, you seem to have spent an enormous amount of time trying to undermine my emotional attachment to you. I have a feeling I already know the answer but why?

Also what were you referring to by "Limited the same."
