Season 1* which was already altered. Faust and Paul Rudish had far grander ideas than a shallow slice of life spent 20 minutes on talking and fantasizing rather than doing it.

If anyone on Dhx cared then they would have murdered Vogel the moment he even tried to show signs of wanting to take control of the show since season 2 started.

Season 4 is when the series began to get really good. Season 1 was pretty poor and seasons 2+3 were experimental, testing some ideas and seeing what character development worked.

Its true. The faust era seasons were undoubtably the weakest. I said season 2+3 was experimental but it was really around season 3 when it started becoming the good type of experimental. Season 2 was mostly mediocre episodes with a few good ones while season 1 was mostly just bad.
