She knows her lore and adventure episodes and her two-parters, and she's a competent writer with some minor flaws (like her tendency to over-emphasize Twilight). It really depends on what sort of team she has backing her up and adjusting her course. Judging from the trailer alone, I'm pretty hopeful, Twilight is often in the center (as she should be) but she doesn't dominate, and we have things like Dash pushing the balloon and fencing with Celaeno.

She'd be my #2 pick for movie writer. #1 would be M.A. Larson, which is self-explanatory, #3 would be A.K. Rogers (who I consider to be a better writer overall, but who doesn't grasp the necessary adventure aspects as well as Meghan).

Definitely not the Ursa fight, because in the early parts, ponies bring attention to her horn but never her eye. She wears a hat as her only disguise early on, so the eye has to come later.

It's not explicitly mentioned in the fight against the hippogriffs, but she does take a beating and she is pounced at least twice, once by two large hippogriffs and once by the queen herself.
The next scene does mention how they all took a beating, with some of Storm Creatures losing fur and and pieces of armor, and one chipping his horn.

So it's either the hippogriffs (which would make sense, considering their claws), or some other event that isn't mentioned.

More like canon age-ranges they adhere to fairly reliably.
There's some nitty-gritty logic out there, but the gist of it is that the mane6 are probably 3-4 years apart with Dash as the youngest and Applejack as the oldest, and they're young adults. (Twilight just finished her studies, Rarity's business finally took off, etc.).

Cutieceanera that ponies celebrate when they earn their cutie marks is obviously inspired by quinceañera, so the typical age to get your cutie mark is around 15, give or take a couple in either direction.

They adhere to age-ranges in the sense that for example in the flashback when Twilight earns her cutie mark, her parents look like regular ponies. When we later see them in the flesh in the current day, they're reached middle-age and have lines under their eyes.

It doesn't really help us here, except to say that Tempest must be in the same age bracket as mane6. It goes without saying that she's older than the CMC, but she logically can't be as old as Shining Armor and Cadance(?).
