Theres a major flaw in that pics argument. No pony is ever punished, no matter how much they fucked up, as long as they apologize and regret what they did. Example: RD destroys a cloud factory but says she's sorry, no punishment. RD acts like a cunt with her pranks, gets tricked into believing she massacred her entire town and turned them into zombies. The same people that beat Celestia in season 1-3 also beat Twilight though. The elements beat NMM and Discord, Cadence beat Chrysalis and there's no reason that Celestia didn't beat Sombra.
I suppose she should have also beaten Chrysalis, but you can just say that Chry was hopped up on love.

Personally I find it hard to like Glimmer but I also find it hard to hate her. She's like the personification of those times when you were like 8-12 years old and your parents told you they were going to take you somewhere as a surprise and you're expecting something like Toys'R'Us or the mall and they take you to Ames. You aren't really mad because you're out of the house and that's always nice but why couldn't it have been the Walmart/Target that's not even five minutes away from here? That would have been preferable to Ames.

She's just... there. Even in episodes about her it's the other characters who generally carry the episode like Trixie being an obnoxious cunt or Celestia and Luna actually interacting with each other. If she were to just never show up in episode again for some reason I probably wouldn't even notice until someone pointed it out.

S6 finale: Those 2 "literal gods" you mentioned, along with Cadence, the Captain of the Royal Guard, their supercharged baby, along with the Elements ALL got nerfed to the point of being easily overrun and kidnapped by changelings, and not even an army of changeling, probably like 1 or 2 changelings per pony, because it was all done without the rest of Equestria noticing

Well i can understand her getting redeemed, but

1. Make her reformation more relatable and her reasoning to become a villain more logical.

2. When you want to make a certain character join the main cast, THEN MAKE HER ORIGINAL CHARACTER JOIN THE CAST and not comepltely brain wash her to a blank slate personality where she act like a writer's self insert who only react to what other ponies do and say.
Applejack is very normal but she still has her "quirk" of being a red neck and being ignorant or too stubborn. Twilight is often normal and play a straight mare like Glimmer but even she has some major freaks out and nerding outs.
Starlight would have been interesting if she was acting like old Starlight but acting less like a bitch. Basically if she became a more intelligent version of Trixie as the comics depicted her. The one who doesn't speak of herself in third person but still is able to manipulate or dominate other ponies or boss them around. We could use such personality with mane6 dynamic since Discord is too busy being a beta for Fluttershy.
