Emoji movie is shit because it's literally just adverts for apps and uses no creativity whatsoever. Even the characters are just tropes made to fit into a box. The MLP movie is at least trying, but the emoji movie is somehow more of a cashgrab than a toy commercial.

emoji movie is shit foir a whole raft of reasons that are nothing to do with it being a blatant app commercial. the plot is textbook bland romcom adventure bullshit, the acting is sub-par, the jokes are lamer than a three-legged horse with three broken legs, the creativity is non-existent, the pacing is ridiculous. It's bland, boring, mindless, manufactured pablum.

Ghostbusters reboot was better.

The star wars prequels were better.

A short sharp kick in the crotch with a hobnail boot would be better.
