Santa Pone was the one who set up/coordinated the previous ones. There was a google sign-up thing and questions you answered to come up with a list of people. Based on your answers, you'd get someone's info and their list of likes/asks. After that, it's up to you. While yes, it is 4chan and there is a risk of getting trolled, I only know of 1 person who was vocally unhappy with their gift (see the above posts about Peanut). Santa Pone and others, in the spirit of the holidays, also try to make sure that no one would get left out and anyone who's grinched (ie signed up and their secret santa flake on them) would have someone else willing to cover and send out gifts to them.

All in all, it is about the spirit of the holidays, good will towards others, etc. Definitely fun and comfy times enjoyed world wide.
