New map. Primarily the area South of Equestria.
>>
So fucking SMALL
Either we don't see shit and there' s a bunch of stuff south/north and east/west, or their planet is the size of Russia
It's kinda silly

Also,
>All these cool looking places we'll never see
>>
>>30654492
Thats only Equestria, not the whole world.
Not like well what lies beyond tho.
>>
>>30654478
How well does this line up with the map from the comics? The one with Gelding groto.
>>
>>30654517
Yeah but look, they have seasons, so their planet is inclined just like ours
And then look at how their world is made, top is cold, bottom is hot
We can already see the 'frozen wastes' so what could be more north than that?
It's basically the Arctic
And then we see Equestria, with its temperate weather, then it gets hotter and hotter with wastelands and deserts, then bogs and swamps?

I mean, how would a world like that work if it's based on ours and there's already such a difference throughout one continent?
Could there really be more south of it?
We can see the stormking's castle, and I guess the hippogriff city or whatever, but
idk, it's weird

She'd have to go through the desert and shit, it's even twice as far as griffinstone
>>
>>30654537
Cold at top, cold at bottom. Varying degrees of warm in middle.
>>
>>30654583
Oh thanks, that's better
Why do you spoiler them tho? They're just maps

So does Appul have family in Equestria's movie business and hasn't told Rarity?
>>
>>30654602
Yes, but that's my point, look, we got the arctic and on the extreme left there's an iceberg?
So the stormking's castle is bordering the antarctic?
idk, it just seems so small

okay, so it's not a map then, gotcha

Pegasi make the weather
See winter wrap up
>>
>>30654669
Yes, but they're not in charge of the seasons, or why would they even need those in the first place?
Just keep an eternal spring and 'rain seasons' and there you go
Creatures wouldn't hibernate either
>>
>>30654537
>Yeah but look, they have seasons, so their planet is inclined just like ours
DYEWTS.
They literally roll out and wrap up Winter and run through forests in order to make the leaves Fall and their sun and moon orbit their planet.

If anything their planet is tidally locked if left to it's own devices.

>>30654597
Only other area it could be would be right next to that dragon, which is definitely closer, especially with a train going half the distance.

You sure you're not talking about the fact that most places wrap up winter with magic, rather than ponyville's 'mundane' method?
Or that the everfree just does it's own shit?
>>
I kind of wish the film had more exciting locations.
>>
>>30654767
Haha, you're the funny one aren't you!
I wasn't saying that stoopid, I'm not saying that towns and buildings and whatnot are to scale, I'm also talking about the general locations, but also the distances
If the distances aren't to scale, then what the fuck is the point of your map? How can you use it?

Kind of shot your argument in the foot there buddy.

On an unrelated matter i like that word choice with spike

And/or ruins of Hippogriffia.

Recall that they both teleported to and from the big hive, so we really have no context for how far away. Still, I doubt the bugs teleported away the protags when they abducted them, so it must still be somewhat close, since they only had about as much time as a trip to Starlight's village and back requires.

Twiggy's castle isn't small, but it's far from being that big

>>

>>
One of the reasons I think people disregard the map for sweeping epics\ fanfics is because it makes the world seem so small. Like, even if this is just Equestria, I'm still only counting, like, 14-16 settlements.
That's a small country.
>>
>>30657767
Little ponies, big world.
>>
>>30657767
It's a early industrial (if that) civilization. Looks like the continent might be on the small side as well. Population likely isn't more than a million.
>>
>>30657767
>implying a fantasy map should include all the minor settlements too

Map of Middle-earth doesn't have that many marked settlements either. According to it Gondor, the greatest kingdom, has 5 cities.
>>

>All these people thinking ponies actually create seasons entirely on their own

No, you morons. They just make the seasons come on a specific date rather than "somewhere around these general few weeks". Seasons still happen in areas the ponies don't control, and perhaps more importantly if the ponies, say, made it winter or summer in Equestria while the rest of the planet was experiencing vastly different temperatures the storm systems along the bordering regions would be unimaginably massive. Like, large enough to make the Storm King shit his pants massive.

You're forgetting that the Everfree having its own natural cycle is seen as a standout, bizarre thing, and unique in the world. Ponies are innately linked to the environment, like dryads or other nature spirits.

If you really want to try and force it into canon, it can fit into the forest between the Macintosh Hills and Arimaspi Territory. (I'm guessing "Appaloosan Mountains" is supposed to be the Macintosh Hills because they were given an unlabeled copy of the map to work with, so they didn't realise those hills already had a name.)
